Vuonna 2007 Yhdysvaltojen rahoitusinstituutioiden ongelmat käynnistivät poikkeuksellisen ankaran maailmanlaajuisen finanssikriisin, joka on viimeisten vuosien aikana edennyt euroalueen velkakriisiksi. Globalisoituneen talouden vaikeuksiin etsitään ratkaisuja. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkastelin, millaisia käsityksiä talouden globalisaatiota arvostelleilla globalisaatiokriitikoilla on finanssikriisistä. In this paper the stakeholders and most discussed topics of Baltic Sea in the media are examined. Baltic Sea is a fragile ecosystem that provides variety of services to the locals. Not only the locals hold the stake, but also industries and governments. This paper aims to present the complexity of stakeholder network and contradicting interests. Altogether 104 newspaper articles from Estonian and Finnish media on Baltic Sea were used as the data source and the concerning topics, themes and stakeholders were surveyed. This chapter tackles the role a Jagiellonian princess, Catherine Jagiellon, has been given in Swedish and Finnish history culture. It illustrates how her figure has entered the historical-cultural memory of both countries, forging and re-forging their national self-image from the end of the sixteenth century through the Cold War, and into contemporary school history teaching. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvittää, kuinka sanaston käyttö kehittyy suomi toisena kielenä -oppijoiden teksteissä. Tarkastelun kohteena on sanavaraston rikkaus eli leksikaalinen diversiteetti. Aineistona on 1197 aikuisten ja koululaisten eri tekstilajeja edustavaa kirjoitusta, jotka on arvioitu valmiiksi Eurooppalaisen viitekehyksen mukaisille taitotasoille. Työ on osa Suomen Akatemian ja Jyväskylän yliopiston vuosina 2007-2009 rahoittamaa Cefling hanketta, jonka tehtävänä on selvittää, millaista kielitaito on kullakin Eurooppalaisessa viitekehyksessä kuvatulla kuudella taitotasolla.
