Optimal measurement setup for damage detection in piezoelectric plates

[EN] An optimization of the excitation-measurement configuration is proposed for the characterization of damage in PZT-4 piezoelectric plates, from a numerical point of view. To perform such an optimization, a numerical method to determine the location and extent of defects in piezoelectric plates is developed by combining the solution of an identification inverse problem, using genetic algorithms and gradient-based methods to minimize a cost functional, and using an optimized finite element code and meshing algorithm. Studies on mini-fiction started during the 1980s. Today this literary genre, previously seen as a literary exception or amusement, has enthusiasts, theorists, practitioners, and thousands of pages dedicated to its analysis. This article examines the current state of Latin American, and Peruvian in particular, mini-fiction and compares three theoretical studies about mini-fiction in Peru by three young Peruvian researchers – Rony Vásquez, Elton Honores and Oscar Gallegos – who propose a periodization of the national mini-fiction which confirms how in the present Peruvian mini-fiction is alive, at a theoretical and pragmatic level.
Feasible glass‐melting process assisted by microwaves

[EN] The advantages of microwave (MW) energy processing have been verified in the sintering of a ceramic frit at a pre-industrial scale. The challenge of achieving high temperature using MW energy at such dimensions was overcome and a mix of natural raw materials was heated until its fluxing point. Changes in dielectric properties of the raw materials mix were also measured in situ with the increase in temperature, being in accordance to thermal processes of a conventional heating process. Questo contributo muove da un'analisi comparativa tra la biografia di Alfonso Sabella "Cacciatore di mafiosi" (Mondadori, 2008) e le prime due stagioni della fiction Rai "Il Cacciatore" (2018-2020), tratte dal libro. L'obbiettivo è problematizzare questo processo di traduzione intersemiotica alla luce dell'evoluzione dei modelli d'eroismo dei personaggi.
