Prescriptions for opioid analgesics to manage moderate-to-severe chronic non-cancer pain have increased markedly over the last decade. An unintentional consequence of greater prescription opioid utilization has been the parallel increase in misuse, abuse and overdose, which are serious risks associated with all opioid analgesics. Previous articles published in the European Paediatric Association (EPA) pages have discussed the importance of children's well-being and its role in different areas of children's health, such as well-child care and child-friendly health care. The goal of this commentary is to raise pediatricians' awareness on the risks of children's overexposure to digital media. It is important to protect the psychological and emotional health of children from uncontrolled external influences to preserve their well-being. We also emphasize the importance of alerting parents and tutors to the risks related to the unrefrained use of the Internet.

Thrombosis occurs at sites of injury to the vessel wall, by inflammatory processes leading to activation of platelets, platelet adherence to the vessel wall and the formation of a fibrin network. A thrombus that goes on to occlude a blood vessel is known as a thromboembolism. Venous thromboembolism begins with deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which forms in the deep veins of the leg (calf) or pelvis. Abstract Background Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a potentially fatal disease, but data on the incidence of fatal PE in cancer patients are scant. Objective We sought to estimate the proportion of cancer patients with PE at autopsy. Methods For this retrospective cohort study, all autopsy reports of cancer patients were retrieved from PALGA: Dutch Pathology Registry and used for data extraction. The primary outcome was PE at time of autopsy, defined as any clot obstructing a pulmonary artery. The secondary outcome was venous thromboembolism, defined as the composite of thrombotic PE, deep vein thrombosis, splanchnic vein thrombosis, or internal jugular vein thrombosis. This chapter focuses on the experience of undocumented college students in the USA. While K‐12 education has been opened to undocumented students, at least on paper, since the landmark case Plyler vs. Doe, college education remains a highly precarious terrain for undocumented students, which offers little to no legal protection. Within the United States, the situation of undocumented college students differs greatly among individual states. Celem niniejszej publikacji jest określenie stanu relacji polsko-amerykańskich na podstawie częstotliwości i rangi wizyt dyplomatycznych odbywanych między tymi państwami. Relacje te są przedstawiane w sferze zarówno politycznej, jak i naukowej jako fundamentalny element polskiej polityki zagranicznej. Jednocześnie brak niekwestionowanych wymiernych wskaźników pozwalających na ich obiektywną ewaluację.
