Radiotherapy (RT) plays a key role in cancer treatment. Although the benefit of ionizing radiation (IR) is well established, some findings raise the possibility that irradiation of the primary tumor not only triggers a killing response but also increases the metastatic potential of surviving tumor cells. Here we addressed the question of whether irradiation of normal cells outside of the primary tumor augments metastasis by stimulating the extravasation of circulating tumor cells. We show that IR exposure of human endothelial cells (EC), tumor cells (TC) or both increases TC-EC adhesion in vitro. The aim of the research was to increase understanding of integrated reporting and further the understanding of the concept of value creation. The data used for the project came from an integrated report from 2012–2013 of seven Nordic construction and infrastructure fields. The methodological approach used was a critical discourse analysis divided into three levels. The analysis begins from a textual level and moves through an interpretive analysis onto the level of critical analysis. Taustatieto. Harjoittelu saa aikaan lisääntyneen verenvirtauksen aktiivisissa luurankolihaksissa. Tämä mahdollistaa ravintoaineiden paremman kulkeutumisen kohdereseptoreilleen. Alun perin pohjoisamerikkalaisen täpläravun (Pacifastacus leniusculus Dana) levinneisyys on 1960-luvulta lähtien laajentunut kattamaan Etelä- ja Keski-Suomessa laajoja vesialueita, jotka ovat aiemmin olleet jokiravun (Astacus astacus L.) elinaluetta. Täpläravun mahdollisesti jokiravusta eroavaa ravinnonkulutusta ja saalislajeihin kohdistamaa saalistusta on pyritty arvioimaan täpläravulle kehitetyllä bioenergeettisellä mallilla, jonka jatkokehitystä ja toimivuuden arviointia tämä tutkimus tukee. Tätä pro gradu –tutkielmaa varten on suomennettu ensimmäinen luku Andreas Steinhöfelin (2008) kirjoittamasta saksalaisesta Rico, Oskar und die Tieferschatten –nimisestä lasten- ja nuortenkirjasta. Käännösprosessin keskiössä on ollut erisnimien ja muiden reaalioiden kääntäminen sekä käännösprosessin kuvaaminen ja reflektointi. Reaaliat ovat kulttuurisidonnaisia ilmauksia, joilla ei välttämättä ole vastinetta tulokielessä- ja kulttuurissa. This doctoral dissertation investigates PR professionalism and PR as a strategic expert function. The approach is phenomenographic and the research progresses through four phases: (1) building a conceptual framework, (2) conducting an interpretative study of concepts, (3) conducting semi-structured in-depth interviews among 37 Finnish PR experts, and (4) constructing a holistic model of PR professionalism. The interpretative study of concepts concludes that PR professionalism consists of expertise in management of identity, management of public sphere, and management of relationships, and its core values are respect, responsibility and reflexivity. Abstract This article examines state-church relations in Sweden by analysing clerical appointment processes in the latter part of the 16th century. The aim is to ascertain whether the king of Sweden could appoint pastors independently, and if not, with whom he was compelled to share the power. Earlier studies argue that the power of the king grew due to the reformation. First, this article examines the number of clerical appointments that were made in the period 1560-1611.
