Application of Heavy Equipment Telematics in Infrastructure Projects : Method for automating collection of mixed fleet data, and optimization of proj…
2019
Master's Thesis Civil and Constructional Engineering BYG508 - University of Agder 2019 Existing heavy equipment telematics capabilities are not being used to their potential. In collaboration with Skanska there is an interest to look at how telematics can beused more efficiently with mixed equipment fleets. Current and future aspects are com-pelling, especially in relations to optimization and environmental benefits.Rv. 3 /rv. 25Løten–Elverumis provided as a case. This master’s thesis takes a closer look at the use of telematics data from heavy equip-ment at infrastructure projects. Through the automation of collecting telematics data, mixed fleet data are juxtapositioned to give insight into …

First measurement of the |t|-dependence of coherent J/ψ photonuclear production
2021
The first measurement of the dependence on $|t|$, the square of the momentum transferred between the incoming and outgoing target nucleus, of coherent J/ψ photoproduction is presented. The data were measured with the ALICE detector in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV with the J/$\psi$ produced in the central rapidity region $|y| < 0.8$, which corresponds to the small Bjorken-$x$ range $(0.3 − 1.4) \times 10 ^{−3}$. The measured $|t|$-dependence is not described by computations based only on the Pb nuclear form factor, while the photonuclear cross section is better reproduced by models including shadowing according t…
Bortvalg av videregående skole og mestringstro : En kvalitativ studie av unge jenter som har valgt å slutte på videregående skole
2017
Masteroppgave psykisk helsearbeid ME504 - Universitetet i Agder 2017 The projects background is a request from the University of Agder to look for reasons why some girls may choose to drop out of high school focusing on their relationship with their contact or main teacher. The purpose of this study is to explore what role self-efficacy has in the effort to increase the percentage of children an adolescents completing high school. It has been important to search for previous experiences to find out why their self-efficacy is at such a low level and if it can have affected their decision to drop out of high school. The issue is: ”which experiences can influence the decision of dropping out o…

Masteroppgave folkehelsevitenskap ME516 - Universitetet i Agder 2017 It is a challenge for both the individual and the society when young adults quit high school. A connection to school and work life is important for their physical and mental health, and the health of future generations. Prevention of school drop outs is important in relation to promoting public health. The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding as well as the theoretical foundation for contributing causes, for why girls quit high school. We look at the underlying causes, with special focus on the determinants of upbringing and school. The aim of the study is: What is it with upbringing and school, that the …

Masteroppgave folkehelsevitenskap ME516 - Universitetet i Agder 2019 Adolescents are an important target groupfor health promotion work. It’s duringthislife phasea lotdevelop mental illnesses andthe years through high school is formative to the years that follow. High schooldropout is a problem both tothe individual, as well as to the society.Young people who finish high schoolare more likely to be employed, have better health and less likely to be dependenton social benefits/ welfare. To increase the number of students finishing high school, more focus is being put on strengthening the relationships in high school. The relationshipsthe students have amongsteach other in school and the rela…
“Hot Case-workers and Squint-eyed Whores” - Sexual Harassment of Norwegian Social- and Health Care Students in Practical Training
2022
Sexual harassment is a societal challenge. Youth, women, students, and health care professionals are some of the groups most at risk for experiencing sexual harassment. In this study, we examine how higher education institutions and practice institutions handle sexual harassment and how students in practical training experience and cope with sexual harassment. A survey and in-depth interviews were conducted among nursing students and social work students at one Norwegian university. Our results indicate that students experience sexual harassment during practice that is an obligatory part of training, that guidance and follow-up are often lacking, and that they experience negative consequenc…
Quality culture at Nordic universities
2022
This study aimed to investigate common features and ways of understanding quality culture (QC) within higher education institutions (HEIs) in Nordic countries. While the concept of QC is commonly accepted and often used, its meaning is not always clear. This paper focuses on how Nordic universities frame QC in their internal documentation. The Nordic context was chosen due to the close cooperation on quality issues that characterise HEIs within the Nordic region. The discussion section of this paper outlines QC in relation to quality assurance (QA) among HEIs within the European and Nordic regions. Sixteen universities participated in the study by sharing documents describing their QCs. The…
Breaking off the engagement : A case study about the decision to stand alone in a time of mergers in the Higher Education sector
2019
Master's thesis Innovative governance and public management ME523 - University of Agder 2019 The development in the Higher Education (HE) sector hasfor the past decade been characterized by structural changes in form of government-initiated mergers. The aim of such structural changes was to enhance the quality by concentrating the resources in fewer but stronger institutions. The signals from the Ministry of Education and Research about such changes was the start of a wave of mergers in the sector, whichover a few years resulted in a decrease in the number of Higher Education Institutions (HEI)from 33 to 21. However, not all of the negotiation processes about potential mergers turned out to…
