Prosociality and life satisfaction: A daily-diary investigation among Spanish university students

Abstract With a diary study, we tested the positive effect of prosociality on life satisfaction. Fifty-six Spanish undergraduate students (45 females; Mage = 21.08 years) rated their life satisfaction, prosociality, self-esteem, and physical appearance for 5 consecutive days. Multilevel results indicated that within-individual positive deviations in prosociality (i.e., behaving more prosocial than usual) were uniquely and significantly associated with higher life satisfaction on that specific day. Itsetunnon perustaa rakennetaan päiväkoti-iässä. Päivi Koiviston tutkimus yhden päiväkodin toimintakulttuurista osoittaa, että lasten itsetunnon vahvistaminen päiväkodin arjessa on mahdollista, mutta se vaatii kasvattajilta ja koko työyhteisöltä tietoista toimintaa ja uskallusta oman työn kriittiseen arviointiin ja kehittämiseen. Players' progression through GraphoGame, an early literacy game: Influence of game design and context of play

Researchers of serious games frequently investigate outcomes of play but overlook the underlying game-design components that drive those outcomes. In this paper, I aim to show how game design and context of play influence progression through GraphoGame, an early-literacy game. This is done by means of two intersecting studies. The first study shows how the game can be represented by a model that explicitly hypothesizes how the interaction between the player and the game drives progression. The differential charged jet cross sections, jet fragmentation distributions, and jet shapes are measured in minimum bias proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV using the ALICE detector at the LHC. Jets are reconstructed from charged particle momenta in the mid-rapidity region using the sequential recombination $k_{\rm T}$ and anti-$k_{\rm T}$ as well as the SISCone jet finding algorithms with several resolution parameters in the range $R=0.2$ to $0.6$. Differential jet production cross sections measured with the three jet finders are in agreement in the transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}$) interval $20<p_{\rm T}^{\rm jet,ch}<100$ GeV/$c$. Esta tesis aborda la correspondencia escrita cifrada utilizada por Isabel de Portugal y Carlos V, junto con otros embajadores durante la monarquía de Carlos V. Incluye la edición de las cartas cifradas durante la regencia de la emperatriz, el estudio de las características de estas cartas y la reconstrucción de 38 cifrarios entre 1530 y 1540. Al editar y ordenar estas cartas, con el estudio de los cifrarios se ha logrado ordenar y fijar la vigencia de los lenguajes cifrados según su cronología y, asimismo, a partir de las descifrados, establecimos unas tablas cifratorias o cifrarios, que nos han permitido establecer y clasificar las cartas encriptadas de Isabel de Portugal, de Carlos V y de…
