Vegetation Diversity of Screes and Taluses of The Pamir and South-Western Tian Shan in Middle Asia

AbstractThis paper presents the results of phytosociological research on scree vegetation of the Pamir and south-western Tian Shan. We collected 222 phytosociological relevés during field studies conducted in 2015–2019, applying the Braun-Blanquet approach. We identified 21 plant communities on mobile and stabilized screes of colluvial cones, aprons and fans, inhabiting mainly the montane and alpine belts in several ranges (e.g. Peter the First, Alichur, Shugnan, Shachdarian, Darvaz, Rushan, Vanch, Fergana, Kyrgyz and Terskey ranges). Expression of MAP1a and MAP1b in the ganglionic eminence and the internal capsule of the human fetal brain.

The expression of microtubule-associated proteins 1a and 1b (MAP1a and 1b) were investigated in two transient structures, the ganglionic eminence (GE) being a prominent part of the telencephalic proliferative zone and the perireticular nucleus (PR) within the internal capsule (IC). Anti-MAP1a immunolabels PR neurons from 18 weeks of gestation (wg) onwards, whereas anti-MAP1b immunolabels long IC fibers between 18 and 22 wg. MAP1b is further present in thalamic fibers that seem to terminate at the medial margin of the GE, in a moderate number of cells of the GE and its medial extension, the gangliothalamic body (GTB). The control of neuritogenesis is crucial for the development, maturation and regeneration of the nervous system. The collapsin response-mediated protein 4 (CRMP-4) is a member of a family of proteins that are involved in neuronal differentiation and axonal outgrowth. In rodents, this protein is expressed in recently generated neurons such as some granule neurons of the dentate gyrus, as well as in certain differentiated neurons undergoing neurite outgrowth or synaptogenesis during adulthood. Clustering transmembrane-agrin induces filopodia-like processes on axons and dendrites

The transmembrane form of agrin (TM-agrin) is primarily expressed in the CNS, particularly on neurites. To analyze its function, we clustered TM-agrin on neurons using anti-agrin antibodies. On axons from the chick CNS and PNS as well as on axons and dendrites from mouse hippocampal neurons anti-agrin antibodies induced the dose- and time-dependent formation of numerous filopodia-like processes. The processes appeared within minutes after antibody addition and contained a complex cytoskeleton. Formation of processes required calcium, could be inhibited by cytochalasine D, but was not influenced by staurosporine, heparin or pervanadate. Polysiloxane-backbone block copolymers in a one-pot synthesis: a silicone platform for facile functionalization.

Block copolymers consisting exclusively of a silicon-oxygen backbone are synthesized by sequential anionic ring-opening polymerization of different cyclic siloxane monomers. After formation of a poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) block by butyllithium-initiated polymerization of D3, a functional second block is generated by subsequent addition of tetramethyl tetravinyl cyclotetrasiloxane (D4(V) ), resulting in diblock copolymers comprised a simple PDMS block and a functional poly(methylvinylsiloxane) (PMVS) block. Inf-sup conditions on convex cones and applications to limit load analysis

The paper is devoted to a family of specific inf–sup conditions generated by tensor-valued functions on convex cones. First, we discuss the validity of such conditions and estimate the value of the respective constant. Then, the results are used to derive estimates of the distance to dual cones, which are required in the analysis of limit loads of perfectly plastic structures. The equivalence between the static and kinematic approaches to limit analysis is proven and computable majorants of the limit load are derived. Microcontact printing (/spl mu/CP) of extracellular matrix proteins is a fascinating approach to control cell positioning and outgrowth, which is essential in the development of applications ranging from cellular biosensors to tissue engineering. Microelectronic devices can be used to detect the activity from a large number of recording sites over the long term. However, signals from cells can only be recorded at small sensitive spots.
