Unitat didàctica : Unió Europea : fortificació o cooperació?

2012

The participation of Non-State Actors in the UNESCO Cultural Diversity Convention: Current Status and Proposals for Reform

2023

The paper is articulated into four sections. The first section illustrates the CPPDCE’s legal framework for engagement with actors other than States. It shows that this framework expresses a ''functionalist'' emphasis on NSAs’ capacity of contrib-uting to the adoption of higher quality decisions on the part of States and facilitating their implementation. The second section investigates the relationship between NSAs and the Convention’s bodies. It argues that the existing ''functionalist-oriented'' regula-tion not only has prevented basic stakeholders from having access to the Convention’s processes, but has also created imbalances among participants, to the detriment of the Convention’s ve…

RUANG BERUBAH BERSAMA-SAMA: ANTROPOLOGI DALAM TRANSFORMASI SOSIAL BUDAYA PAPUA

2018

Abstra k The biggest challenge of anthropology, especially in frontier areas (front lines) like in Papua, is to place it in the context of the vortex of the meaning of socio-cultural transformation experienced by humans themselves. Anthropology, thus becoming a "weapon" in the face of the inevitable social and cultural changes. This article reflects the power of ethnography in the long span of the journey of reproducing Papuan cultural knowledge. This study argues that ethnographic reproduction produced with a colonialistic perspective will lack power and language in describing the complexity and transformation of culture in the Land of Papua. The reality of the Papuan people is high mobili…

Modeling Marginalization: Emergence, Social Physics, and Social Ethics of Bullying

2020

In this paper, we outline the construction and initial simulation experiment results of the Marginalization model (MARG). We experiment under different group parameters because the theoretical paradigm we follow views bullying as a result of social processes. Our primary research question explores the possibility of bullying emergence as agents select interaction partners in a university setting. Based on the simulated process, our results take indications of the stress of marginalization in a student group as a proxy for emer-gent marginalization. MARG simulates two types of interactions between pairs of students: forced and hang-out interactions. In the latter, students decide whether to …

Analysis of the Narratives with Characters That Make Ethnic Diversity Visible¿ Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir

2023

This study follows the line of different authors who examined the visibility of ethnic diversity in children's television series and the psychoeducational implications of these media narratives for children. Specifically, this work analyses the behaviours/actions developed by the model characters of cultural diversity and how these characters promote a perspective on diversity that conditions children. Employing a qualitative methodology, we use content analysis and critical discourse analysis as tools to be able to read, describe and interpret said content. The results highlight that these children's programmes present a culture that reinforces certain values and behaviours. Likewise, the …

Regioninės kultūros samprata rengiant mokytojus Latvijoje, Lietuvoje ir Norvegijoje: lyginamoji atvejo analizė.

2019

A mixed-methods approach to developing an understanding of teachers’ attitudes and their enactment of inclusive education

2017

This research sought to develop an understanding of teachers’ attitudes, sense of self-efficacy and approach to enacting inclusive education in their classrooms in two diverse countries. A mixed-methods research design guided the data collection and analysis. This article focuses on how quantitative and qualitative research approaches were used sequentially and how the findings were finally merged to provide more comprehensive insight into different aspects of teachers’ sometimes contradictory attitudes and approaches to implementing inclusive education. The meta-inferences presented here indicate that merging measurements and meanings can shed light on how teachers’ attitudes and self-effi…

The Impact of Student Diversity in Secondary Schools : An Analysis of the International PISA Data and Implications for the German Education System

2006

While increased heterogeneity in schools (diversity) leads to reduced segregation and greater equity for students from different family backgrounds, it is often expected to have a negative impact on overall performance, and on student well-being and motivation. In this study, neither cross-country comparisons nor student-level analysis confirm this hypothesis. In some countries, students' overall achievement as well as their interest and engagement even appear to be positively influenced by diversity, notably by socio-economic and cultural diversity. In Germany, socio-economic diversity has a positive impact on student achievement, and ability related and cultural diversity positively affec…
