Tämä Pro Gradu -työ tutkii millaista pragmaattista kieliainesta lukion oppikirjasarja English United sisältää. Tarkastelun kohteena ovat kirjasarjan kuusi pakollista kurssia ja analyysi keskittyy kuvaamaan kirjojen tehtävien ja metakielen pragmaattista sisältöä. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvittää mitä pragmaattisia käsitteitä kirjan tehtävät ja metakieli käsittelevät ja mitkä käsitteet jäävät vähemmälle huomiolle. Analyysimetodina tutkimuksessa käytetään sisällönanalyysiä. One-loop corrections to light cone wave functions: the dipole picture DIS cross section

We develop methods needed to perform loop calculations in light cone perturbation theory using a helicity basis, refining the method introduced in our earlier work. In particular this includes implementing a consistent way to contract the four-dimensional tensor structures from the helicity vectors with d-dimensional tensors arising from loop integrals, in a way that can be fully automatized. We demonstrate this explicitly by calculating the one-loop correction to the virtual photon to quark-antiquark dipole light cone wave function. This allows us to calculate the deep inelastic scattering cross section in the dipole formalism to next-to-leading order accuracy. Our results, obtained using …

Sorting of carbon nanotubes by their chirality is the current bottleneck in the way to their broad employment based on their exceptional electronic and optical properties. Despite the extensive effort, there is no known method, which would result in really pure chirality ensembles. Previously reported sorting protocols result in enrichment rather than in sorting, alter electronic structure, and suffer from low yield. Intergenerational fitness effects on offspring due to the early life of the parent are well studied from the standpoint of the maternal environment, but intergenerational effects owing to the paternal early life environment are often overlooked. Nonetheless, recent laboratory studies in mammals and ecologically relevant studies in invertebrates predict that paternal effects can have a major impact on the offspring's phenotype. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on tarkastalle vuorovaikutuksen monikanavaisuutta ja -muotoisuutta sekä sormituksessa tapahtuvia rakenteellisia muutoksia. Tutkimus on tehty etnografiseen tutkimusalaan sijoittuvan MDA:n (Mediated Discourse Analysis) viitekehyksessä. Erasmus exchange students : A behind-the-scenes view into an ELF community of practice

The present paper examines how some Erasmus exchange students studying temporarily at the University of Szeged or at the Charles University in Prague are socialized in(to) their new communities of practice. The paper adopts a language socialization perspective combined with a community of practice approach, and thus contributes to a vastly under-researched area within ELF. The paper reveals that the participants collect first hand experience of using ELF within their newly emerging Erasmus community of practice.
