Valutazione metodologica della contaminazione microbica dell’aria in sala operatoria: campionamento attivo e campionamento passivo

OBIETTIVI: Valutazione della qualità microbiologica dell’aria nelle sale operatorie dell’A.O.U.P. “P. Giaccone” di Palermo mediante metodi di campionamento attivo e passivo. MATERIALI: Nel secondo semestre del 2009 sono stati effettuati campionamenti di aria in 20 sale operatorie (10 a flusso laminare e 10 a flusso turbolento) sia in condizioni di attività sia in condizioni di riposo. I punti di prelievo per il campionamento attivo sono stati: 1) il centro stanza 2) il VCCC; per il campionamento passivo 1) centro stanza 2) fondo stanza. Bacterial and chemical indicator of coastal water pollution.

This study has been carried out to compare the presence of some organic compounds of long environmental persistance (OCLEP) and heavy metals, in sea water samples, with faecal pollution indicators. Along the Sicily coast line three sites with different grade of pollution (urban, agricultural, industrial) were sampled. 69 samples were obtained from October 1987 to May 1990. Only indicators of faecal pollution were found linked to human settlements, while the other investigated anthropogenic activity related substances were found independently from sampling area.

A complete innovative and portable, for on-field operation, Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) biosensing system for wine quality monitoring was designed, realized and tested; the system takes advantage of the innovative module Spreeta™, an integrated transducer designed by Texas Instruments able to recognize the Surface Resonance Phenomena and to represent it through electrical signals. Background Rotavirus vaccination (RV) is recognized by international health authority as the best strategy to prevent rotavirus gastroenteritis (RVGE) in children. Costs of RVGE were estimated in several studies and were classified into direct and indirect costs, that should be further divided into Health care and social perspective. This study aims to evaluate RVGE hospitalization costs in Sicily, before and after universal mass RV (UMRV) introduction.
