In the last few years there has been an increasing attempt to find solutions on how to mitigate the environmental impacts of air travel. Behavioral change has hereby been identified as the measure with the most significant impact. One way to encourage behavioral change is the use of eco-labels. Eco-labels have, to date, received scant attention in the aviation industry, and their effect on air travel behavior is still largely unknown. This paper provides a phenomenological analysis of the emotional aspects of the experience of home. Researchers have studied home from several perspectives, but there is a need for a detailed phenomenological analysis of the emotional intentionality which underlies the meanings and experiences of home as an emotionally charged place. This paper provides novel conceptual tools for understanding the interrelation between home and its inhabitant’s personal identity by introducing the concept of ”feeling of ownness”. Electrophysiological evidence for the effectiveness of images versus text in warnings

AbstractWarning sign plays an important role in risk avoidance. Many studies have found that images are better warnings than text, while others have revealed flaws of image-only warning signs. To better understand the factors underlying the effectiveness of different types of warning signs (image only, text only, or image and text), this study adopted event-related potential technology to explore the differences at the neurocognitive level using the oddball paradigm and the Go/No-go paradigm. Tiivistelmä – Abstract Pro gradu -työssä kuvataan, millaisia manuaalisia eli viitottuja diskurssimerkitsimiä viittoja käyttää luennoidessaan suomalaisella viittomakielellä ja analysoidaan luennoitsijan käyttämien merkitsimien tehtäviä luennossa. Merkitsimien analyysi on rajattu yhtenäisen aiheen muodostaman viitotun jakson, eli episodin, alkuun ja loppuun.
