Warm conveyor belts (WCBs) are important airstreams in extratropical cyclones, often leading to the formation of intense precipitation and the amplification of upper-level ridges. This study presents a case study that involves aircraft, lidar and radar observations in a WCB ascending from western Europe towards the Baltic Sea during the Hydrological Cycle in the Mediterranean Experiment (HyMeX) and T-NAWDEX-Falcon in October 2012, a preparatory campaign for the THORPEX North Atlantic Waveguide and Downstream Impact Experiment (TNAWDEX). Radiation-sensitive gels are among the most recent and promising developments for radiation therapy (RT) dosimetry. RT dosimetry has the twofold goal of ensuring the quality of the treatment and the radiation protection of the patient. Benchmark dosimetry for acceptance testing and commissioning of RT systems is still based on ionization chambers. However, even the smallest chambers cannot resolve the steep dose gradients of up to 30–50% per mm generated with the most advanced techniques. This chapter reports on a study conducted in seven countries in which young children’s (aged under 8) digital practices in the home were examined. The study explored family practices with regard to access to and use of technologies, tracing the ways in which families managed risks and opportunities. Seventy families participated in the study, and interviews were undertaken with both parents and children, separately and together, in order to address the research aims. In the Ouled Abdoun sedimentary basin (Morocco), the phosphatic series is composed of regular interbedded phosphatic and marly limestone layers. Exploitation of the phosphate in some deposits in this basin collides frequently with problems bound to the existence, in the phosphatic series, of disturbed areas (sterile bodies) qualified as derangements by the mining engineers of the Office Cherifian Phosphate Group (OCP). Darba nosaukums: Arirang: Korejas neoficiālais nacionālais simbols. Darbā ietverta teorija par Arirang un tās izcelšanos, nozīmi Korejas tautai un Korejas pussalas savstarpējās attiecībās. Darbā arī tiek iekļauts pētījums par dažāda vecuma cilvēku attieksmi pret Arirang. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kāpēc Arirang tiek uzskatīta par Korejas simbolu un kāpēc tā ir tik svarīga Korejas kultūras izzināšanā. Darba gaitā tika noskaidrots, ka Arirang ir sena tautasdziesma, kas populāra kļuva Japānas kolonizācijas laikā, un tā joprojām ir svarīga gan Dienvidkorejai, gan Ziemeļkorejai. Darbs sastāv no ievada, piecām nodaļām un sešām apakšnodaļām, secinājumiem, kas viss ir izklāstīts 41 lpp.

Abstract High energy particles reaching the Earth’s atmosphere are known as cosmic rays. As a result of interactions with nuclei of air molecules, cosmic rays induce showers of secondary particles, which can be divided into 3 components: electromagnetic, hadronic and muonic components. The Experiment with Multi Muon Array (EMMA), located at the depth of 75 m in the Pyhäsalmi mine in Finland, investigates the muonic component of the Extensive Air Showers (EAS) to deduce the direction, energy, and the mass of the primary cosmic ray particles.
