Edyta Stein – św. Teresa Benedykta od Krzyża (1891–1942) podejmowała problematykę rodziny w kontekście analizy osoby ludzkiej jako istoty relacyjnej. Opracowała także wspomnienia doświadczeń związanych z rodziną, w której się wychowała. Miała przy tym świadomość zagrożeń czyhających na rodzinę związanych z utrzymaniem jedności i spełnianiem jej właściwych funkcji. Rodzina w koncepcji Stein jest przede wszystkim wspólnotą charakteryzującą się licznymi interakcjami międzyludzkimi i bliskimi wartościami. The objective of the paper is to analyse two very closely related categories, economic nationalism and economic populism. They intertwine both in the lived politics on the ground and in intellectual debates. Despite a rich interdisciplinary discourse, scholars interested in economic nationalism and economic populism still disagree not only how to explain them, but more fundamentally – about what they are and what their relation is. This paper answers this deficit by addressing the question of the intertwining connections between economic nationalism and populism. This paper is an attempt to indicate the reasons why a theologian should be interested in other sciences. The openness of the Church towards science is a relevant issue for Christian faith. Its justification today is in a climate of scientific thinking, in which scientific tools of recognising of the world, as well as the scientific picture of the world play an important role. This article will demonstrate the following: 1) the ecclesial reason; 2) the educational reason; (3) the anthropological reason; (4) the ecological reason;(5) the scientifical reason; (6) the kerygmatic-pastoral reason.
