Dense solid–liquid off-bottom suspension dynamics: Simulation and experiment

Dense solid–liquid off-bottom suspension inside a baffled mechanically stirred tank equipped with a standard Rushton turbine is investigated. Dynamic evolution of the suspension from start-up to steady-state conditions has been determined by both visual experiments and computational fluid dynamics (CFDs). A classical Eulerian–Eulerian multifluid model (MFM) along with the “homogeneous” k–ε turbulence model is adopted to simulate suspension dynamics. In this paper we argue that the use of System Dynamics modelling applied to Business Model design and representation may result in an entrepreneurial learning approach to support potential entrepreneurs in exploring and learn how a business operates and reacts according to alternative strategic choices. Uncoupled thermomechanical transient analyses have been carried out to investigate the behavior of IFMIF-EVEDA lithium test loop bayonet backplate target assembly under two selected start-up transient operational scenarios. The first transient scenario considered foresees that the target assembly, starting from the initial uniform temperature of 50 C, is heated up uniquely by convective heat transfer with lithium, flowing from inlet to outlet nozzle at its reference nominal temperature and pressure, until its nominal steady state thermal field distribution is reached. Dotajā darbā tiek izskatīta start-up un jaunuzņēmumu attīstību Latvijā. Start-up uzņēmums pēc defenīcijas tiek saistīts ar inovācijām. Pētot šo tēmu, parliecinajos par to ka daļa iesaistīto to tā nesaprot. Bet, uzskata ka jauns cilvēks un koka nieciņš ir pilnīgi jauns produkts un inovācija. Pirms bakalaura darba uzsākšanas tika definēta hipotēze: Latvijas jauniešiem ir grūti uzsākt uzņēmējdarbību, jeb virzīt savu start-up, jo jauniešiem pietrūkst ārējā finansējuma projektu attīstībai. Electrical conductivity as a state indicator for the start-up period of anaerobic fixed-bed reactors.

The aim of this work was to analyse the applicability of electrical conductivity sensors for on-line monitoring the start-up period of an anaerobic fixed-bed reactor. The evolution of bicarbonate concentration and methane production rate was analysed. Strong linear relationships between electrical conductivity and both bicarbonate concentration and methane production rate were observed. On-line estimations of the studied parameters were carried out in a new start-up period by applying simple linear regression models, which resulted in a good concordance between both observed and predicted values. This paper presents the principles, method and main results of the Observatory of the Socio-Ecological Transition in Franche-Comté (OTSE-fc). The latter is currently used as a reference for the development of the Drâa observatory of the Province of Ouarzazate as part of the CNRS-CNRST scientific cooperation project 2015-2016. At the request of the participants of the workshop, we also summarized the progress of the territorial diagnosis of the Province of Ouarzazate, which constitutes the basis of the Drââ Observatory.
