Information and Communication Component of Modern Entrepreneurship

The extent of involvement of small business to the World Wide Web depends not only on the degree of activity of the entrepreneurs themselves, but also on the level of development of a virtual market space. Statistics show that in the European Union, for example, businessmen from countries just emerging from the inertia of the machine production are still fairly sluggish in the development of ICT. In the context of the problems of small business in general and of the European entrepreneurship, in particular, it can be argued that virtually oriented entrepreneurs need now a strong support at both the national and supra-national levels.
Knowledge-Intensive Entrepreneurship in the Economy of the European Union

The article studies role of knowledge in business and analyzes tendencies of the formation of knowledge-intensive entrepreneurship (business) in the EU. It is shown that for small and medium-sized enterprises prospects of expansion of knowledge production and sales of products and services are associated with the internationalization of business. The author proposes the matrix of decision-making entrepreneurs, depending on the completeness and quality of information at their disposal on the market.
Contribution of High Growth Enterprises in Solving Problems of Employment

Promotion of rapidly growing enterprises (“gazelles”) is an essential condition for successful solution of employment problems. Priority should be granted to support of high growth enterprises in high technology manufacturing and knowledge-intensive business services. Dissemination process of such enterprises in each country is characterized by a certain industry-specific factors. Author’s analysis of statistical information allows to conclude that the high-tech manufacturing industries do not play a significant role in solving the problems of employment.
