Transarterial chemoembolization versus sorafenib in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and extrahepatic disease

BackgroundSorafenib is the recommended treatment for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) is performed in individual cases with limited extrahepatic spread.
