The paper is based on a study of 375 Finnish youngsters' views on questions concerning war and peace. These attitudes are examined in relation to the self-concept and moral development. The results show that girls apparently value peace more than boys do, that girls also participate in peace saving activities more than boys. For both sexes, moral development correlates with a positive attitude towards peace: he higher the moral stage, the more favourable the attitudes.
