In vitro evaluation of the antibacterial activity of cured dentin/enamel adhesive incorporating the antimicrobial agent MDPB

The aim of this study was to investigate in vitro the antibacterial effect of a dentin/enamel adhesive containing MDPB (Clearfil Protect Bond) after curing and to compare it with an adhesive not containing MDPB (Clearfil SE Bond). The antibacterial effect of the cured adhesives was tested on Enterococcus faecalis by the evaluation of growth inhibition in a 48-h microplate direct contact test (DCT). The presence of antibacterial activity due to soluble components was also investigated by an agar diffusion test (ADT) performed with the adhesives cured on the surface of dentin disks. TEM morphological characterization of a one-step self-etching system applied clinically to human caries-affected dentin and deep sound dentin

Purpose: To examine morphologically the hybrid layer of one-step self-etching adhesive, Clearfil S3 Bond (S3bond), in caries-affected dentin (CAD) and deep sound dentin (DSD) cavities performed clinically. For a comparative group, the two-step self etching adhesive Clearfil Protect Bond (Pbond) was used in a similar clinical situation. Methods: This study was carried out on carious and sound teeth clinically selected for extraction. The purpose of this study was to investigate in vivo the gingival microcirculatory changes associated with endodontic treatment using the continuous wave of condensation technique. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty necrotic one canal roots of 20 cooperative patients of both sexes, aged between 20 and 43 years, were selected. Evaluation of marginal leakage after mechanical fatigue cycling of composite inlays luted with different cements

This in vitro study evaluated the marginal microleakage of composite inlays luted with 3 different cement systems. The null hypothesis was that the luting materials would not influence dye penetration, showing the same degree of microleakage. Thirty-six sound molars were selected, mesio-occlusodistal cavities were prepared, and the teeth were randomly divided into 3 groups (n = 12).
