FUZZY TCP: A PRELIMINARY STUDY
2002
Implementing efficient TCP for the Internet necessarily has to cope with the problem that the source does not know in advance which window allocation policy should be the best to use for a given network condition. In this paper, an on-line adaptive fuzzy system is used at the source in an objective to find the best possible weighted combination among the available policies.
Nonlinear Control of a Pneumatic Muscle Actuator System
2001
Abstract The performance of a Pneumatic Muscle Actuator under three tracking control strategies is compared: robust backstepping, sliding-mode and gain scheduling. Robustness is assured for the three controllers in the presence of model uncertainties and external perturbations. Exponential stability is proved for the sliding-mode tracking controller, ultimate boundedness for the backstepping tracking controller and exponential stability for constant or slowly-varying reference signals for the gain scheduling controller. Computer simulations show a good performance for the tracking of a sine wave by the first two controllers, although the sliding-mode strategy yields a high-frequency switchi…
Galaxy-SynBioCAD: Synthetic Biology Design Automation tools in Galaxy workflows
2020
AbstractMany computer-aided design tools are available for synthetic biology and metabolic engineering. Yet, these tools can be difficult to apprehend, sometimes requiring a level of expertise that limits their use by a wider community. Furthermore, some of the tools, although complementary, rely on different input and output formats and cannot communicate with one another. Scientific workflows address these shortcomings while offering a novel design strategy. Among the workflow systems available, Galaxy is a web-based platform for performing findable and accessible data analyses for all scientists regardless of their informatics expertise, along with interoperable and reproducible computat…
