Lo scopo di questo lavoro è di rivedere le principali applicazioni della interventistica eco-guidata d’anca, descrivendone le indicazioni e la metodologia. L’ecografia è una metodica considerata sicura per i pazienti, in quanto non è stato dimostrato un possibile danno dovuto all’energia trasmessa dagli ultrasuoni ai tessuti del paziente, contrariamente alle metodiche che fanno uso di radiazioni ionizzanti, come la radiografia convenzionale e la tomografia computerizzata. The purpose of this work is to review the main applications of ultrasound-guided hip intervention al procedures describing the indications and methodology. Ultrasound is a method considered safe for patients as it has not been shown a possible damage due to ultrasound energy transmitted towards the patient's tissues as opposed to methods that make use of ionizing radiation such as conventional radiography and computed tomography. In addition ultrasound is quick and effective in guiding the needle to the desired location avoiding vascular and/or nerve structures thus enabling greater security compared to the techniques performed in interventional fluoroscopy which also have the disadvantage of a large delivery of ionizing radiation for both patient and operator. Several authors have described the main techniques of ultrasound-guided hip intervention and its various applications that can be both diagnostic (as in the case of joint fluid aspiration to assess the presence or absence of septic arthritis) and therapeutic (as in the case of drugs inoculations or evacuation of exceeding intra-articular fluid).

Dislocazione infero-mediale del frammento meniscale. Studio con risonanaza magnetica

Definire l'accuratezza diagnostica della Risonanza Magnetica (RM) nella diagnosi di dislocazione infero-mediale del frammento della fibrocartilagine meniscale, Materiale e metodi. Sono stati valutati retrospettivamente gli esami RM del ginocchio, effettuati nel periodo compreso tra dicembre 2002 ed aprile 2004, di 676 pazienti (eta media 32 anni) affetti da patologia traumatica del ginocchio e successivamente sottoposti ad artroscopia, al fine di identificare la presenza di una lesione meniscale a manico di secchio e della dislocazione infero-mediale del frammento meniscale. Pigmented villonodular synovitis of the foot: MR findings.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the MRI findings in the various forms of pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) of the foot. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Seven hundred and fifty-three MR studies of the foot performed at our institute between June 1994 and April 2000 were retrospectively reviewed for the presence of PVNS. Purpose. This study was undertaken to assess the diagnostic accuracy of high-resolution ultrasonography (HRUS) in the detection of meniscal cysts. Materials and methods. Over a 2-year period, 1,857 patients underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the knee for traumatic or degenerative disorders. All patients with MRI evidence of a meniscal cyst were studied by HRUS. HRUS was also performed on an equal number of patients without MRI evidence of meniscal cyst who were used as a control group. Valore del segno del doppio legamento crociato posteriore nell'imaging con RM del ginocchio

Questo studio è stato condotto in maniera retrospettiva su 2436 esami di risonanza magnetica (RM) di ginocchio eseguiti nel periodo compreso tra Gennaio 2006 e Ottobre 2007. Gli esami sono stati analizzati usando come unico criterio diagnostico per la definizione del segno del doppio legamento crociato posteriore (LCP) la visualizzazione diretta di un frammento in gola intercondiloidea parallelo ed inferiore al LCP. Tale segno è stato riscontrato in 56 casi, di cui 50 successivamente sottoposti ad artroscopia che ha confermato la diagnosi in tutti i casi.
