Pēdējā laikā ir novērojams pieaugošs pieprasījums pēc piepilsētu telpas. Tā ir pilsētvides ainavai piemītošu cilvēku darbību lokalizācija lauku teritorijā, Berģos īstenojot dažādas kultūras mikroformas, kas ir cilvēku dzīves un darba vidē veidoti kultūras artefakti. Maģistra darba “Kultūras mikroformu veidošanās Berģu apdzīvojuma ainavā” mērķis ir izvērtēt Berģu ainavas telpiskās pēctecības un kultūras mikroformas saistībā ar apdzīvojuma veidošanās procesiem. Private Space in Soviet Cinema: Case Study of Riga

Abstract The aim of this article is to discover the discourse of living spaces of Riga through the films of the Soviet period and to examine essential changes of private space in different residential structures. This study contributes to the field of human geography by conducting content analysis of a vast number of Soviet films with a focus on the development and spatial organization of apartments in Riga. The analysis of 264 films illustrates that living spaces are rarely portrayed in the Soviet cinema and they mostly provide intentionally formed idealistic information about the qualities and achievements of Soviet private space.
Visual Representation of Urban Environment: Microraioni of Riga in Soviet Cinematography

Abstract The aim of this article is to interpret the discourse of residential areas of Riga through the films of the Soviet period and to examine essential changes in residential structure. Specific image of cinematic formal techniques is used in relation to the urban. The results of movie review are compared with changes in the residential development between 1945–1990. 124 movies display that residential areas are frequently portrayed in the Soviet cinema and they form an integral part of the Soviet urban perception.
