Victims or Aggresors? Framing Romanian Migrants and Crime in Two British Newspapers

The research question at which the present article attempts to answer is: What are the British journalistic procedures used in representing migration and crime in the specific case of Romanian migrants? The article uses quantitative content analysis as the main method of research. The sample of texts was made up of 117 articles published in two (tabloid) British newspapers (the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror) in the time-period January 1–December 21, 2015. The violent acts of Romanian migrants that were covered by the UK press were extremely diverse. They ranged from robbery, murder and begging to prostitution and medical malpractice. A Conceptual Map of “Nutrition”: Content Analysis of Uses in Romanian Mass Media and Scientific Articles Between 2014 and 2017

The National Institute of Statistics revealed that in Romania, in 2014, 46.4% of the population over 18 years were overweight and 9.3% were obese. Moreover, there is no lowering of these rates insight. The current corporeal state is put on the lifestyle that influences eating habits and, in consequence, nutrition (nutriție). In this chapter, we provide a first glimpse of the place that nutrition has in Romania by a conceptual map made based on the data gathered through content analysis. The analysis included all the Romanian articles from media and scientific journals, published between 2014 and 2017.
