Beeinflussen migrantenspezifische Merkmale die politische Beteiligung von Personen mit Migrationshintergrund? Um diese empirische Frage zu beantworten, muss ein Erklarungsmodell entwickelt werden, das Folgendes leistet: Es muss allgemeine Faktoren berucksichtigen, die fur die Erklarung politischer Aktivitat zentral sind. Es muss migrantenspezifische Faktoren enthalten, die klar von den allgemeinen Faktoren zu unterscheiden sind. Und es muss in der Lage sein, mikroanalytische Mechanismen zu benennen, die das Zusammenspiel migrantenspezifischer und allgemeiner Faktoren theoretisch fundiert und empirisch adaquat abbilden.
Online Hate Does Not Stay Online – How Implicit and Explicit Attitudes Mediate the Effect of Civil Negativity and Hate in User Comments on Prosocial Behavior
Abstract Incivility and hateful language in user comments are met with growing concern among politicians, the general public, and scholars. There are fears that such comments may decrease social cohesion and ultimately result in less prosocial behavior among citizens. We investigate whether hate, or even civil negativity in user comments alone, inhibit actual prosocial behavior through recipients’ explicit and implicit attitudes. Investigating label suggestions for opinion mining in German Covid-19 social media
This work investigates the use of interactively updated label suggestions to improve upon the efficiency of gathering annotations on the task of opinion mining in German Covid-19 social media data. We develop guidelines to conduct a controlled annotation study with social science students and find that suggestions from a model trained on a small, expert-annotated dataset already lead to a substantial improvement - in terms of inter-annotator agreement(+.14 Fleiss' $\kappa$) and annotation quality - compared to students that do not receive any label suggestions. In Kapitel 3.1 erlautere und begrunde ich, unter welchen Handlungen ich politische Partizipation verstehe. Dazu stelle ich in Kapitel 3.1.1 die Definition politischer Partizipation vor, die meinem Verstandnis zugrunde liegt.
