Master's thesis in Global Development and Planning (UT506) In this thesis, I have chosen to look at whether citizen participation is important for a socially sustainable place development. I have chosen to do a case study of Lindesnes municipality. This is a new, complex municipality from 2020, at the southern tip of Norway. This master's thesis is based on social sustainability, place theory and participation, where participation is central. The theoretical parts are in a mutual relationship with each other in the thesis and are all central to the understanding of the complexity of the problem.
