The demonstrations and revolts that have spread throughout the Arab world since 2010 have suddenly enlivened the political situation of an area that had long appeared to be under the heel of enduring dictatorships. It may be too soon to draw any conclusions about the so-called "Arab Spring", but one may attempt to grasp the potential that recent events may hold for the future.
