Non-linear digital control improving transient response: Design and test on a multiphase VRM

2010

Multiphase interleaved buck converters are widely used for point of load applications, especially for VRMs. Performance optimization issue often clashes with size and cost requirements thus leading the industrial and academic research to focus on advanced solutions. This paper presents a control technique for multiphase VRMs including two interacting sections: the linear loop implements a PWM peak current mode control and the nonlinear subsystem modifies few linear loop parameters under load transients only. Steady-state performances are affected by the linear control only while dynamic performance optimization is a non-linear algorithm issue. The proposed control system improves the dynami…

Knowledge and training needs on built environment and indoor health of Italian public health residents: a national survey

2017

Introduction The Working Group for Hygiene of Built Environment and the National Council of Residents of the
Italian Society of Hygiene, Preventive Medicine and Public Health conducted a nation-wide survey to evaluate the knowledge and training needs on built environment and indoor health of Italian public health residents. Results The compliance was very high (52,4%) covering all the Italian postgraduate schools. The results underline important lacks of theoretical formation and practical training, but also a certain inhomogeneity across the country and show a strong interest of residents on this topic. Conclusions The authors propose the adoption a national core curriculum and suggest som…

How should vaccination services be planned, organized, and managed? Results from a survey on the Italian vaccination services

2019

Background. Quality improvement is an increasingly recognized approach to maximize service effectiveness and minimize costs in public health. However, the Italian law never provided for the institutional accreditation of vaccination services. Furthermore, a recently approved law added six more compulsory vaccinations to the original four, which has led to a considerable increase in vaccination efforts, without any previous resources evaluation. The aim of the study was to investigate structural, organizational and managerial characteristics of the Italian vaccination services, in order to suggest the adoption of adequate quality standards. Study design. A survey involving the representative…
