Urban traffic accident data collection and analysis in Europe: Current state. Survey study.

The reduction of the number of road accident fatalities by 50 %, by the year 2010, suggested by the EU, involves the active contribution of all the agents in charge of the road safety in Europe. Even though the accidents that happened in urban areas have a relative smaller severity, it is the place where, for the moment, in absolute terms, the major number of accidents take place in the EU countries, as well as generating serious consequences on the more vulnerable users (pedestrians, cyclists, children, the elderly…). The current SAU action has as main objective to obtain an approximation of the characteristics of the current accident collection and analysis systems through the application…

Periodic Orbits in the Isosceles Three-Body Problem

The Saturn’s satellites Janus and Epimetheus are the first known bodies in the Solar System that has horseshoe orbits in a frame that rotates with uniform angular velocity. Both satellites have similar masses and orbital elements when they are far from one another. Moreover, their orbits are nearly symmetric. In fact, in the past, they have been identify as a unique satellite and afterwards, some mathematical theories about their orbits has been necessaries to understand why they do not collide. In particular, the interest in planar three-body problem with two small masses has increased6. We assume that the two small masses have similar symmetric initial conditions. The aim of this paper is…

The Acute Effect of Low Intensity Aerobic Exercise on Psychomotor Performance of Athletes with Nocturnal Sleep Deprivation

Objectives: Psychomotor performance is a vital factor which decisively affects the athletic performance. The purpose of the research was to investigate the acute effects of low intensity aerobic exercise on psychomotor performance of athletes with nocturnal sleep deprivation. Methods: Sixteen professional female volleyball players with mean age of 22.3 ± 2.6 years old were studied twice in a balanced, randomized design. The participants were asked to fill the Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) prior to the beginning of the study and their nocturnal activity was recorded at 1-minute intervals and scored with the Actiwatch sleep analysis. The study used the Vienna Test System to measure co…

Injury in elite women soccer and national women soccer in the lower extremity

Purpose: Analyse the epidemiology of women's soccer harmful depending on the category of game. Materials and Methods: There were 26 participants (38 Super League and 32 National League women) with a mean age of 21.20 ± 4.64 years and body mass index (BMI) of 21.94 ± 1.79 kg/m2. There are several reasons why the health problems of the women’s soccer must be taken into account. Among these reasons, we think that the speed actions in this sport will have a great impact on the health of competitors. In addition, the women are more prone to overuse injuries due to the morphological characteristics. Results: Musculoskeletal injuries and pain were importance to women’s soccer of two levels. This w…
