Beyond APAR and NPQ: Factors Coupling and Decoupling SIF and GPP Across Scales
The connection between solar-induced fluorescence (SIF) and vegetation gross primary productivity is being widely investigated across spatial, temporal, and biological scales, including: a) studies at the leaf [1], [2], plant canopy [2]–[4] or satellite pixel scale [5], [6], b) temporally with studies spanning from diurnal [7] to seasonal scales [1], [3], [5], and b) biologically with studies covering various plant functional types (PFTs), e.g., crops [4], [7], deciduous [8] or evergreen forests [1], [3], in response to different sources of stress.
Intravoxel incoherent motion derived liver perfusion/diffusion readouts can be reliable biomarker for the detection of viral hepatitis B induced liver fibrosis
Background: Recent two studies reported that intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) analysis can separate healthy livers and viral hepatitis B (VHB) induced liver fibrosis. However, in these two studies the starting b-value for bi-exponential decay analysis was b =10 and b =15 s/mm 2 respectively. The current study has two primary aims. The first is to further confirm the diagnostic value of IVIM in detecting liver fibrosis. Effects of pretreatment with clopidogrel and aspirin followed by long-term therapy in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: the PCI-CURE study
Summary Background Despite the use of aspirin, there is still a risk of ischaemic events after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). We aimed to find out whether, in addition to aspirin, pretreatment with clopidogrel followed by long-term therapy after PCI is superior to a strategy of no pretreatment and short-term therapy for only 4 weeks after PCI. Remote sensing methods enable detection of solar-induced chlorophyll a fluorescence. However, to unleash the full potential of this signal, intensive cross-disciplinary work is required to harmonize biophysical and ecophysiological studies. For decades, the dynamic nature of chlorophyll a fluorescence (ChlaF) has provided insight into the biophysics and ecophysiology of the light reactions of photosynthesis from the subcellular to leaf scales.
