Viivasegmenttiprosessin tunnusten estimointi

Tutkielmassa käsitellään tasossa olevan viivasegmenttiprosessin kahta ensimmäisen kertaluvun tunnusta: intensiteettiä ja pituusjakauman odotusarvoa. Uusina menetelminä esitellään intensiteetin estimoinnissa kahden referenssipisteen käyttö sekä plusotannan aiheuttaman harhan korjaus käyttäen harhalle laskettua odotusarvoa. Pituusjakauman odotusarvon estimoinnissa uutta on sisältymissuhteeseen perustuva estimaattori. Tilastollisena mallina prosessille käytetään Boolen mallia, joka on erikoistapaus germ–grain-mallista. Abstract The mean lifetime is an important characteristic of particles to be identified in nuclear physics. State-of-the-art particle detectors can identify the arrivals of single radioactive nuclei as well as their subsequent radioactive decays (departures). Challenges arise when the arrivals and departures are unmatched and the departures are only partially observed. An inefficient solution is to run experiments where the arrival rate is set very low to allow for the matching of arrivals and departures. Inclusion ratio based estimator for the mean length of the boolean line segment model with an application to nanocrystalline cellulose

A novel estimator for estimating the mean length of fibres is proposed for censored data observed in square shaped windows. Instead of observing the fibre lengths, we observe the ratio between the intensity estimates of minus-sampling and plus-sampling. It is well-known that both intensity estimators are biased. In the current work, we derive the ratio of these biases as a function of the mean length assuming a Boolean line segment model with exponentially distributed lengths and uniformly distributed directions. Finnish pre-service teachers’ perceptions of their strategic learning skills and collaboration dispositions

To support the development of pupils’ 21st-century skills, teachers themselves must also be competent in these skills and learn them during pre-service teacher education. The aim of this study is to investigate what kind of profiles emerge among Finnish first-year pre-service teachers’ (N = 872) in terms of perceptions of their strategic learning skills and collaboration dispositions and what background variables explain membership of the profiles found. Työelämä digimurroksessa : jatkuvaa oppimista vai teknostressiä?

Tässä luvussa tarkastelemme teknostressin ilmiötä suomalaisessa työelämässä. Tutkimusaineisto (N=1032), johon tämä luku pohjautuu, kerättiin strukturoidulla verkkokyselyllä vuoden 2020 alussa. Määrällinen aineisto analysoitiin hyödyntämällä yksi- ja kaksisuuntaista varianssianalyysiä sekä lineaarista regressiota. Avointen vastausten analysointiin sovelsimme teoriaohjaavaa sisällönanalyysiä. Tulokset osoittavat, että työpaikoilla koetaan teknostressiä. Teknostressin kokemukseen olivat työntekijän omien asenteiden ja osaamisen lisäksi yhteydessä organisaation toimintaympäristö oppimisen ja kehittymisen mahdollisuuksineen. Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitettiin, missä määrin lukion opintomenestys selittää yliopisto-opinnoissa menestymistä ja opintojen etenemistä. Aineisto muodostui 120:n vuonna 2006 opintonsa aloittaneen liikuntatieteiden tai kielten yliopisto-opiskelijan takautuvista opintotiedoista. Tutkittavista kerättiin lukiosuoritusten arvosanat, ja heidän yliopisto-opintojensa etenemisnopeutta ja suoritustasoa seurattiin vuoteen 2015 saakka. Aineisto analysoitiin korrelaatio- ja regressioanalyyseilla. Regressioanalyysissa selvisi, että tutkittavien lukion päättötodistuksen arvosanojen keskiarvo ja ikä opintojen aloitushetkellä selittivät yliopistossa suoritettujen arvosanojen keskiarvoa.
