INFLUENCE OF THE INITIAL PHASE PROFILE ON THE ASYMPTOTIC SELF-SIMILAR PARABOLIC DYNAMICS

2009

International audience; We describe the influence of the initial phase profile on the convergence towards asymptotic self-similar parabolic shape. More precisely, based on numerical simulations, we discuss the impact of an initial linear chirp and a p phase shift. If the parabolic shape has been found to describe accurately the pulse envelope, dark structures can appear and evolve also self-similarly on the parabolic background.

New Strong Bounds on sub-GeV Dark Matter from Boosted and Migdal Effects

2020

Due to the low nuclear recoils, sub-GeV dark matter (DM) is usually beyond the sensitivity of the conventional DM direct detection experiments. The boosted and Migdal scattering mechanisms have been proposed as two new complementary avenues to search for light DM. In this work, we consider the momentum-transfer effect in the DM-nucleus scattering to derive the new bounds on sub-GeV DM for these two scenarios. We show that such an effect is sizable so that the existing bounds on the DM-nucleus scattering cross section can be improved significantly.

Explaining 750 GeV diphoton excess from top/bottom partner cascade decay in two-Higgs-doublet model extension

2016

In this paper, we interpret the 750 GeV diphoton excess in the Zee-Babu extension of the two-Higgs-doublet model by introducing a top partner ($T$)/bottom partner ($B$). In the alignment limit, the 750 GeV resonance is identified as the heavy CP-even Higgs boson ($H$), which can be sizably produced via the QCD process $pp \to T\bar{T}$ or $pp \to B\bar{B}$ followed by the decay $T\to Ht$ or $B \to Hb$. The diphoton decay rate of $H$ is greatly enhanced by the charged singlet scalars predicted in the Zee-Babu extension and the total width of $H$ can be as large as 7 GeV. Under the current LHC constraints, we scan the parameter space and find that such an extension can account for the observe…

Observation of the Anomalous Hall Effect in a Collinear Antiferromagnet

2020

Time-reversal symmetry breaking is the basic physics concept underpinning many magnetic topological phenomena such as the anomalous Hall effect (AHE) and its quantized variant. The AHE has been primarily accompanied by a ferromagnetic dipole moment, which hinders the topological quantum states and limits data density in memory devices, or by a delicate noncollinear magnetic order with strong spin decoherence, both limiting their applicability. A potential breakthrough is the recent theoretical prediction of the AHE arising from collinear antiferromagnetism in an anisotropic crystal environment. This new mechanism does not require magnetic dipolar or noncollinear fields. However, it has not …
