Le phénomène des dépôts de miniatures d’armes dans les sanctuaires celtes : réflexions à partir de l’exemple des Rèmes
International audience; By the end of the Celtic period, between the 2nd and the last quarter of the 1st century B.C., new types of votive offerings were placed in sanctuaries. These include enigmatic miniature weapons, difficult to identify and characterize. Yet they seem to have an important symbolic value asofferings by purpose. This paper will try to characterize this phenomenon by studying three Celtic ritual contexts from de French Ardennes : Acy-Romance, Baâlons-Bouvellemont and Mouzon.
Baâlons-Bouvellemont : un sanctuaire à dépôts d’armes miniatures ?
International audience; On the Baâlons-Bouvellemont site, in the Ardennes, an important sanctuary has been discovered. Two phases have been identified (the first oflate Iron age and the second of early Roman period), with organized ritual deposits of hundreds of ceramics, coins, weapons and objects initiallyidentified as miniaturized weapons. This paper present the sanctuary and his deposits. Then, it will question the identification of the iron spikes formerly identified as miniatures.
