Peer-assessment using test exams in a Sakai-based e-learning platform

We report our work on the implementation of a learning innovation based on the combination of peer-assessment and formative learning. The methodology consists on the students themselves to propose, review and select questions for the subsequent creation of a "multiple choice" exam to assess their progress. This learning innovation is carried out with a minimum intervention from the lecturer by using testing tools from the Sakai-based e-learning platform of our institution in combination with several software functions that have been created to automate the aggregation and processing of the students’ contributions.
