This paper describes the design of a high resolution low cost imaging system for the analysis of high speed particle projection. This system, based on a camera and a set of flashes, is used to characterize the centrifugal spreading of fertilizer particles ejected at speeds of environ 30 m s. Multiexposure images collected with the camera installed perpendicular to the output flow of granules are analysed to estimate the trajectories of the fertilizer granules. Very good results are obtained with the Markov random fields method, in comparison with others.
Coaches’ perceptions of French sports clubs: Health-promotion activities, aims and coach motivation
Background: Given the benefits of participating in sport, sports clubs have been recognised as health-promoting organizations. To examine health-promotion activities in Finnish sports clubs, Kokko et al. developed a set of standards for health-promoting sports clubs (HPSC). Recently reported results from latest Mars Orbiters and Rovers missions are transforming our opinion about the red planet. That dry and inhospitable planet reported in the past is becoming a wetter planet with high probabilities of water existence in the past. Nowadays, some results seem to indicate the presence of water beneath the Mars surface. But also mineralogy studies by NASA Opportunity Rover report iron oxides and hydroxides precipitates on Endurance Crater. Sedimentary deposits have been identified at Meridiani Planum.
