Structural and functional imaging of the brain language structures, regions, and circuits has revealed the association between brain anomalies and hallucinations in psychosis (see Chaps. 9, 10, and 11). Similarly genetic investigations have demonstrated the effect of gene variations on the severity of hallucination (see Chap. 7).
