Resumen basado en el de la publicación El diálogo es un elemento compartido por el teatro, el cine y la televisión. El crecimiento experimentado por la ficción televisiva en todo el Estado español ha hecho necesario recurrir, con el fin de satisfacer la demanda de creadores, a una nueva generación de guionistas, provenientes mayoritariamente del teatro. Se analiza la función que cumple el diálogo en la construcción de la historia, la forma en que se utiliza para suministrar información en cada uno de estos tres campos, y muy especialmente, cómo se utiliza el diálogo en la ficción televisiva y en su unidad narrativa: la secuencia.
