The link between induced emotions, the humor style and the sense of life quality

The study showed that there is a link between induced emotions, the humor style and the sense of life quality. According to Martin’s [1] theory stating that there are four humor styles: affiliative, self-enhancing, aggressive and self-defeating, the humor style of people belonging to groups in which one of the following emotions: sadness, aversion, satisfaction and joy, had earlier been induced and the control group was checked by means of the Humor Styles Questionnaire (HSQ). Between leisure and work. The case of Polish trade tourism

The aim of this article is the introducing of the phenomenon of Polish trade tourism , which took place between the years 1956 - 1989. Working in the sort of interpretative sociology (or more precisely - the phenomenology of Alfred Schutz’s) the ways of experiencing contemporary commercial travel that exist in the social memory were presented. Qualitative research (conducted by the episodic interview) revealed a multitude of ways of constructing memories of the trade tourism and at the same time revealing intersubjectivity of experiences. The presented research shows that neither women nor men are honest with their partners when informing them about the amount of money spent on collecting items. Their behaviour may show signs of addiction to collecting. Men in comparison to women spend more and are less likely to lower the amounts of money spent on collected items. Those who earn more spend more on their collections. Women and men also use different techniques of hiding their expenses. Women do not inform about their expenses using denying techniques (such as saying that it was bought/borrowed a long time ago, etc.), whereas men inform about expenses but use preventive techniques (such as exchange).
