CATALYTIC OXIDE COATINGS ON CERAMIC SUPPORTS.

Thin porous oxide coatings composed of Al2O3, SiO2, TiO2 and ZrO2, respectively, on ceramic carriers have been produced by either a wash-coat procedure or by liquid coating followed by solidification. By dehydration and calcination of the supported ceramics the pore texture was stabilised. The thickness of the layer, its homogeneity, specific surface area, porosity and pore volume distribution have been shown to be controlled by the properties of the oxides deposited, and by the conditions of the coating procedures.
