Even though trust in organizations has become a popular research theme both in Finland and internationally, there has been rather little research on the phenomenon in cooperative organizations. It is therefore meaningful to study trust in co-operatives because cooperatives are people-centered organizations whose creation is influenced by the services needed by the community and the people and the trust between them. The purpose of this qualitative study is to increase understanding of trust in the context of values. This research study was done in 2008 as part of Master’s degree in Business. The research material was collected during spring and summer 2008. In addition to the earlier Master’s thesis research material, more recent relevant research and articles are used in this study.
