Weak decays of heavy hadrons into dynamically generated resonances

2016

In this paper, we present a review of recent works on weak decay of heavy mesons and baryons with two mesons, or a meson and a baryon, interacting strongly in the final state. The aim is to learn about the interaction of hadrons and how some particular resonances are produced in the reactions. It is shown that these reactions have peculiar features and act as filters for some quantum numbers which allow to identify easily some resonances and learn about their nature. The combination of basic elements of the weak interaction with the framework of the chiral unitary approach allow for an interpretation of results of many reactions and add a novel information to different aspects of the hadron…

Quantum loops in radiative decays of the a1 and b1 axial-vector mesons

2007

A previous model where the low-lying axial-vector mesons are dynamically generated, implementing unitarity in coupled channels in the vector-pseudoscalar (V P) meson interaction, is applied to evaluate the decay widths of the a1(1260) and b1(1235) axial-vector mesons into . Unlike the case of the a1, the b1 radiative decay is systematically underestimated at tree level. In this work we evaluate for the first time the loop contribution coming from an initial V P vertex. Despite the large superficial divergence of the loops, the convergence of the relevant loops can be established by using arguments of gauge invariance. The partial decay widths obtained agree with the experimental values wit…

Sequential vector and axial-vector meson exchange and chiral loops in radiative phi decay

2003

We study the radiative $\phi$ decay into $\pi^0 \pi^0 \gamma$ and $\pi^0 \eta \gamma $ taking into account mechanisms in which there are two sequential vector-vector-pseudoscalar or axial-vector--vector--pseudoscalar steps followed by the coupling of a vector meson to the photon, considering the final state interaction of the two mesons. There are other mechanisms in which two kaons are produced through the same sequential mechanisms or from $\phi$ decay into two kaons and then undergo final state interaction leading to the final pair of pions or $\pi^0 \eta$, this latter mechanism being the leading one. The results of the parameter free theory, together with the theoretical uncertainties, …

Unitary chiral dynamics in decays and the role of scalar mesons

2004

We make a theoretical study of the J/psi decays into omegapipi, phipipi, omegaK (K) over bar and phiK (K) over bar using the techniques of the chiral unitary approach stressing the important role of the scalar resonances dynamically generated through the final state interaction of the two pseudoscalar mesons. We also discuss the importance of new mechanisms with intermediate exchange of vector and axial-vector mesons and the role played by the OZI rule in the J/ psi phipipi vertex, quantifying its effects. EXTRACTION OF THE Λ(1405) POLES FROM π0Σ0 PHOTOPRODUCTION DATA

2014

In this contribution we review a work where we showed how to extract the position of the two Λ(1405) poles from experimental photoproduction data which have been measured recently in the γp → K+π0Σ0 reaction at Jefferson Lab. Using a potential motivated by chiral dynamics but with free parameters, we solve the Bethe Salpeter equation in the coupled channels [Formula: see text] and πΣ in isospin I=0 and parameterize the amplitude for the photonuclear reaction in terms of a linear combination of the πΣ → πΣ and [Formula: see text] scattering amplitudes in I=0, with a different linear combination for each energy. Good fits to the data are obtained which lead to two poles at 1385 - 68i MeV and…

Testing the nature of the Λ(1520)-resonance in proton-induced production

2006

The $\Lambda(1520)$ resonance has been recently studied in a unitarized coupled channel formalism with $\pi\Sigma(1385)$, $K\Xi(1530)$, $\bar{K}N$ and $\pi\Sigma$ as constituents blocks. We provide a theoretical study of the predictions of this model in physical observables of the $pp\to pK^+K^-p$ and $pp\to pK^+\pi^0\pi^0\Lambda$ reactions. In particular, we show that the ratio between the $\pi^0\pi^0\Lambda$ and $K^-p$ mass distributions can provide valuable information on the ratio of the couplings of the $\Lambda(1520)$ resonance to $\pi\Sigma(1385)$ and $\bar{K}N$ that the theory predicts. Calculations are done for energies which are accessible in an experimental facility like COSY at …

η→π0γγdecay within a chiral unitary approach revisited

2008

In view of the recent experimental developments in η→π^(0)γ γ decay, and the fact that the Particle Data Group in the online edition of 2007 reports sizable changes of the radiative decay widths of vector mesons used as input in the theoretical calculations of E. Oset, J. R. Pelaez, and L. Roca [Phys. Rev. D 67, 073013 (2003)], a reevaluation of the decay width of the in this channel has been done, reducing its uncertainty by almost a factor of 2. The new input of the Particle Data Group is used, and invariant mass distributions and total widths are compared with the most recent results from the AGS and MAMI experiments, and preliminary ones of KLOE. The agreement of the theory with the AGS…

Predictions for the ${\vec{\Lambda }_b \rightarrow J/\psi ~ \Lambda (1405)}$ Λ b → J / ψ Λ ( 1405 ) decay

2015

We calculate the shape of the [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] invariant mass distributions in the [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] decays that are dominated by the [Formula: see text] resonance. The weak interaction part is the same for both processes and the hadronization into the different meson-baryon channels in the final state is given by symmetry arguments. The most important feature is the implementation of the meson-baryon final-state interaction using two chiral unitary models from different theoretical groups. Both approaches give a good description of antikaon-nucleon scattering data, the complex energy shift in kaonic hydrogen and the line shapes of [Formu…

Two, three, many body systems involving mesons

2011

In this talk we show recent developments on few body systems involving mesons. We report on an approach to Faddeev equations using chiral unitary dynamics, where an explicit cancellation of the two body off shell amplitude with three body forces stemming from the same chiral Lagrangians takes place. This removal of the unphysical off shell part of the amplitudes is most welcome and renders the approach unambiguous, showing that only on shell two body amplitudes need to be used. Within this approach, systems of two mesons and one baryon are studied, reproducing properties of the low lying $1/2^+$ states. On the other hand we also report on multirho and $K^*$ multirho states which can be asso…

Triangle mechanism in τ → f1(1285)πντ decay

2018

Abstract We show that the τ − decay into f 1 ( 1285 ) π − ν τ is dominated by a triangle loop mechanism with K ⁎ , K ¯ ⁎ and K (or K ¯ ) as internal lines, which manifests a strong enhancement reminiscent of a nearby singularity present in the narrow K ⁎ limit and the near K ¯ ⁎ K ⁎ threshold of the internal K ⁎ propagators. The f 1 ( 1285 ) is then produced by its coupling to the K ⁎ K ¯ and K ¯ ⁎ K which is obtained from a previous model where this resonance was dynamically generated as a molecular K ⁎ K ¯ (or K ¯ ⁎ K ) state using the techniques of the chiral unitary approach. We make predictions for the f 1 π mass distribution which significantly deviates from the phase-space shape, due…

Charm-beauty meson bound states from B(B*)D(D*) and B(B*)D¯(D¯*) interaction

2017

We evaluate the $s$-wave interaction of pseudoscalar and vector mesons with both charm and beauty to investigate the possible existence of molecular $BD$, ${B}^{*}D$, $B{D}^{*}$, ${B}^{*}{D}^{*}$, $B\overline{D}$, ${B}^{*}\overline{D}$, $B{\overline{D}}^{*}$, or ${B}^{*}{\overline{D}}^{*}$ meson states. The scattering amplitude is obtained implementing unitarity starting from a tree level potential accounting for the dominant vector meson exchange. The diagrams are evaluated using suitable extensions to the heavy flavor sector of the hidden gauge symmetry Lagrangians involving vector and pseudoscalar mesons, respecting heavy quark spin symmetry. We obtain bound states at energies above 7 Ge…

Unveiling the K1(1270) double-pole structure in the B¯→J/ψρK¯ and B¯→J/ψK¯*π decays

By looking at the pseudoscalar-vector meson spectra in the $\overline{B}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}\ensuremath{\rho}\overline{K}$ and $\overline{B}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}{\overline{K}}^{*}\ensuremath{\pi}$ weak decays, we theoretically investigate the double-pole structure of the ${K}_{1}(1270)$ resonance by using the chiral unitary approach to account for the final-state interactions between the pseudoscalar ($P$) and vector ($V$) mesons. The ${K}_{1}(1270)$ resonance is dynamically generated through these interactions in coupled channels and influences the shape of the invariant mass distributions under consideration. τ decay into a pseudoscalar and an axial-vector meson

2019

We study theoretically the decay $\tau^- \to \nu_\tau P^- A$, with $P^-$ a $\pi^-$ or $K^-$ and $A$ an axial-vector resonance $b_1(1235)$, $h_1(1170)$, $h_1(1380)$, $a_1(1260)$, $f_1(1285)$ or any of the two poles of the $K_1(1270)$. The process proceeds through a triangle mechanism where a vector meson pair is first produced from the weak current and then one of the vectors produces two pseudoscalars, one of which reinteracts with the other vector to produce the axial resonance. For the initial weak hadronic production we use a recent formalism to account for the hadronization after the initial quark-antiquark pair produced from the weak current, which explicitly filters G-parity states an…

Mass dependence of inclusive nuclear $\phi$ photoproduction

2003

Based on a prior determination of the $\phi$ selfenergy in a nuclear medium we perform a theoretical study of inclusive $\phi$ photoproduction in nuclei, looking at the $A$ dependence of the cross sections for different $\phi$ momenta. We find sizeable reductions in the nuclear cross sections with respect to the elementary one, using a $\phi$ selfenergy which implies a width about six times the free one at normal nuclear density. The calculations are done to match the set up for an ongoing experiment at {\it SPring8/Osaka} which should provide valuable information on the renormalization of the $\phi$ properties in nuclei.

Selected topics on Hadrons in Nuclei

2011

In this talk we report on selected topics on hadrons in nuclei. The first topic is the renormalization of the width of the $\Lambda(1520)$ in a nuclear medium. This is followed by a short update of the situation of the $\omega$ in the medium. The investigation of the properties of $\bar{K}$ in the nuclear medium from the study of the $(K_{flight},p)$ reaction is also addressed, as well as properties of X,Y,Z charmed and hidden charm resonances in a nuclear medium. Finally we address the novel issue of multimeson states.

Measuring the phi meson width in the medium from p induced phi production in nuclei

2004

We study the $A$ dependence of the $\phi$ meson production cross section in proton nucleus reactios at energies just above threshold, which are accessible in an experimental facility like COSY. This $A$ dependence has two sources: the distortion of the incident proton and the absorption of the $\phi$ in its way out of the nucleus. This second process reduces the cross section in about a factor two in heavy nuclei. Thus we show that the $A$ dependence of the cross section contains valuable information on the $\phi$ width in the nuclear medium.

Two-, Three-, Many-body Systems Involving Mesons. Multimeson Condensates

2015

We show that in many cases one has experimental counterparts for the states found, while in some other cases they remain as predictions, which we suggest to be searched in BESIII, Belle, LHCb, FAIR and other facilities.

The role of Delta(1700) excitation and rho production in double pion photoproduction

2001

Recent information on invariant mass distributions of the $\gamma p\to\pi^+\pi^0 n$ reaction, where previous theoretical models had shown deficiencies, have made more evident the need for new mechanisms, so far neglected or inaccurately included. We have updated a previous model to include new necessary mechanisms. We find that the production of the $\rho$ meson, and the $\Delta(1700)$ excitation, through interference with the dominant terms, are important mechanisms that solve the puzzle of the $\gamma p\to\pi^+\pi^0 n$ reaction without spoiling the early agreement with the $\gamma p\to\pi^+\pi^- p$ and $\gamma p\to\pi^0\pi^0 p$ reactions.

The final state interaction of the pions modified by the nuclear medium produces a spectacular shift of strength of the pi0 pi0 invariant mass distribution induced by the moving of the sigma pole to lower masses and widths as the nuclear density increases.

Scattering of unstable particles in a finite volume: The case ofπρscattering and thea1(1260)resonance

We present a way to evaluate the scattering of unstable particles quantized in a finite volume with the aim of extracting physical observables for infinite volume from lattice data. We illustrate the method with the $\ensuremath{\pi}\ensuremath{\rho}$ scattering which generates dynamically the axial-vector ${a}_{1}(1260)$ resonance. Energy levels in a finite box are evaluated both considering the $\ensuremath{\rho}$ as a stable and unstable resonance and we find significant differences between both cases. We discuss how to solve the problem to get the physical scattering amplitudes in the infinite volume, and hence phase shifts, from possible lattice results on energy levels quantized insid…

Description of thef2(1270),ρ3(1690),f4(2050),ρ5(2350), andf6(2510)resonances as multi-ρ(770)states

Radiative decay intoγPof the low lying axial-vector mesons

We take into account tree level and loop diagrams coming from the axial-vector decay into a vector and a pseudoscalar meson. We find a large span for the values of the radiative widths of the different axial-vector mesons. Chiral dynamics of baryon resonances and hadrons in a nuclear medium

2005

In these lectures I make an introduction to chiral unitary theory applied to the meson baryon interaction and show how several well known resonances are dynamically generated, and others are predicted. Two very recent experiments are analyzed, one of them showing the existence of two $\Lambda(1405)$ states and the other one providing support for the $\Lambda(1520)$ resonance as a quasibound state of $\Sigma(1385) \pi$. The use of chiral Lagrangians to account for the hadronic interaction at the elementary level introduces a new approach to deal with the modification of meson and baryon properties in a nuclear medium. Examples of it for $\bar{K}$, $\eta$ and $\phi$ modification in the nuclea…

η→π0γγdecay within a chiral unitary approach

We improve the calculations of the $\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{\ensuremath{\eta}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ decay within the context of meson chiral Lagrangians. We use a chiral unitary approach for the meson-meson interaction, thus generating the ${a}_{0}(980)$ resonance and fixing the long standing sign ambiguity on its contribution. This also allows us to calculate the loops with one vector meson exchange, thus removing a former source of uncertainty. In addition we ensure the consistency of the approach with other processes, first, by using vector meson dominance couplings normalized to agree with radiative vector meson decays and, second, by …

We find an $I({J}^{P})=1/2({0}^{\ensuremath{-}})$ bound state for the $BD\overline{D}$ system at an energy around 8925--8985 MeV within uncertainties, which would correspond to a bottom hidden-charm meson. In contrast, for the $BDD$ system, which would be bottom double-charm and hence manifestly exotic, we have found h…

Recent Developments in Chiral Unitary Dynamics of Resonances

2007

In this talk I summarize recent findings made on the description of axial vector mesons as dynamically generated states from the interaction of peseudoscalar mesons and vector mesons, dedicating some attention to the two $K_1(1270)$ states. Then I review the generation of open and hidden charm scalar and axial states. Finally, I present recent results showing that the low lying $1/2^+$ baryon resonances for S=-1 can be obtained as bound states or resonances of two mesons and one baryon in coupled channels dynamics.

Recent developments in chiral dynamics of hadrons and hadrons in a nuclear medium

2006

In this talk I present recent developments in chiral dynamics of hadrons and hadrons in a medium addressing the following points: interaction of the octet of pseudoscalar mesons with the octet of baryons of the nucleon, showing recent experimental evidence on the existence of two $\Lambda(1405)$ states, the interaction of the octet of pseudoscalar mesons with the decuplet of baryons of the $\Delta$, with particular emphasis on the $\Lambda(1520)$ resonance, dynamically generated by this interaction. Then I review the interaction of kaons in a nuclear medium and briefly discuss the situation around the claims of deeply bound states in nuclei. The large renormalization of the $\Lambda(1520)$ …

Nature of the axial-vector mesons from their N-c behavior within the chiral unitary approach

2008

By describing within the chiral unitary approach the g-wave interaction of the vector meson nonet with the octet of pseudoscalar Goldstone bosons, we find that the main component of the axial-vector mesons -b(1)(1235), h(1)(1170), h(1)(1380), a(1)(1260), f(1)(1285) and the two states associated to the K-1(1270)- does not follow the QCD dependence on the number of colors for ordinary q (q) over bar mesons.

Study of reactions disclosing hidden charm pentaquarks with or without strangeness

2016

We present results for five reactions, Lambda(b) -> J/psi K(-)p, Lambda(b) -> J/psi eta Lambda, Lambda(b) -> J/psi pi(-)p, Lambda(b) -> J/psi K-0 Lambda and Xi(-)(b) -> J/psi K-Lambda, where combining information from the meson baryon interaction, using the chiral unitary approach, and predictions made for molecular states of hidden charm, with or without strangeness, we can evaluate invariant mass distributions for the light meson baryon states, and for those of J/psi p or J/psi Lambda. We show that with the present available information, in all of these reactions one finds peaks where the pentaquark states show up. In the Lambda(b) -> J/psi K(-)p, and Lambda(b) -> J/psi pi(-)p reactions w…

sigma meson in a nuclear medium through two pion photoproduction

2003

We show theoretical results for $(\gamma, \pi^0 \pi^0)$ production on nucleons and nuclei in the kinematical region where the scalar isoscalar $\pi \pi$ amplitude is influenced by the $\sigma$ pole. The final state interaction of the pions modified by the nuclear medium produces a spectacular shift of strength of the two pion invariant mass distribution induced by the moving of the $\sigma$ pole to lower masses and widths as the nuclear density increases.

The two Λ(1405) poles from photoproduction data

2015

We present results extracting the position of the two Λ(1405) poles from experimental photoproduction data measured recently at different energies in the γp → K + π 0 Σ 0 and γp → K + π ± Σ ∓ reactions at Jefferson Lab. The analysis is done by means of a chiral dynamics motivated potential but with free parameters, which guarantees analyticity and unitarity in the solutions. With the best result we find the two Λ(1405) poles at about 1352 − 48 i MeV and 1419 − 29 i MeV.

ϕ meson width in the medium from proton induced ϕ production in nuclei

2004

We perform calculations for the production of $\phi$ mesons in nuclei at energies just above threshold and study the $A$ dependence of the cross section. We use results for the $\phi$ selfenergy in the medium obtained within a chiral unitary approach. We find a strong $A$ dependence which is tied to the distortion of the incident proton and to the absorption of the $\phi$ in its way out of the nucleus. The effect of this latter process reduces the cross section in about a factor two in heavy nuclei proving that the $A$ dependence of the cross section bears valuable information on the $\phi$ width in the nuclear medium. Calculations are done for energies which are accessible in an experiment…

Tau decay into $$\nu _\tau $$ and $$a_1(1260)$$, $$b_1(1235)$$, and two $$K_1(1270)$$

2020

AbstractWe study the $$\tau \rightarrow \nu _\tau A$$τ→ντA decay, with A an axial-vector meson. We produce the $$a_1(1260)$$a1(1260) and $$b_1(1235)$$b1(1235) resonances in the Cabibbo favored mode and two $$K_1(1270)$$K1(1270) states in the Cabibbo suppressed mode. We take advantage of previous chiral unitary approach results where these resonances appear dynamically from the vector and pseudoscalar meson interaction in s-wave. Actually two different poles were obtained associated to the $$K_1(1270)$$K1(1270) quantum numbers. We find that the unmeasured rates for $$b_1(1235)$$b1(1235) production are similar to those of the $$a_1(1260)$$a1(1260) and for the two $$K_1$$K1 states we suggest t…

LHCb pentaquark as aD¯*Σc−D¯*Σc*molecular state

2015

We perform a theoretical analysis of the ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}}_{b}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}J/\ensuremath{\psi}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}p$ reaction from where a recent LHCb experiment extracts a $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}(1405)$ contribution in the ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}p$ spectrum close to threshold and two baryon states of hidden charm in the $J/\ensuremath{\psi}p$ spectrum. We recall that baryon states of this type have been theoretically predicted matching the mass, width and ${J}^{P}$ of the experiment; concretely some states built up from the $J/\ensuremath{\psi}N$, ${\overline{D}}^{*}{\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}}_{c}$, ${\overline{D}}^{*}{\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Sigma}}}_{c}$, …

Scalar resonances in the D+→K−K+K+ decay

2021

We study theoretically the resonant structure of the double Cabibbo suppressed $D^+\to K^- K^+K^+$ decay. We start from an elementary production diagram, considered subleading in previous approaches, which cannot produce a final $K^- K^+$ pair at the tree level but which we show to be able to provide the strength of the decay through final meson-meson state interaction. The different meson-meson elementary productions are related through SU(3) and the final rescattering is implemented from a suitable implementation of unitary extensions of ChPT which generate dynamically the scalar resonances $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$. We obtain a good agreement with recent experimental data from the LHCb c…

Radiative vector meson decay

2004

We study the radiative $\rho$, $\omega$ and $\phi$ decay into $\pi^0 \pi^0 \gamma$ and $\pi^0 \eta \gamma $ taking into account mechanisms in which there are two sequential vector-vector-pseudoscalar or axial-vector--vector--pseudoscalar steps followed by the coupling of a vector meson to the photon, considering the final state interaction of the two mesons. Other mechanisms in which two kaons are produced through the same sequential mechanisms or from vector meson decay into two kaons which undergo final state interaction leading to the final pair of pions or $\pi^0 \eta$, are also considered. The results of the parameter free theory, together with the theoretical uncertainties, are compar…

Three body systems with strangeness and exotic systems

2010

We report on four $\Sigma$'s and three $\Lambda$'s, in the 1500 - 1800 MeV region, as two meson - one baryon S-wave $(1/2)^+$ resonances found by solving the Faddeev equations in the coupled channel approach, which can be associated to the existing $S$ = -1, $J^P= 1/2^+$ low lying baryon resonances. On the other hand we also report on a new, hidden strangeness $N^*$ state, mostly made of $K \bar{K} N$, with mass around 1920 MeV, which we think could be responsible for the peak seen in the $\gamma p \to K^+ \Lambda$ around this energy. Finally we address a very novel topic in which we show how few body systems of several $\rho$ mesons can be produced, with their spins aligned up to J=6, and …

Low lying axial-vector mesons as dynamically generated resonances

2005

We make a theoretical study of the s-wave interaction of the nonet of vector mesons with the octet of pseudoscalar mesons starting from a chiral invariant Lagrangian and implementing unitarity in coupled channels. By looking for poles in the unphysical Riemann sheets of the unitarized scattering amplitudes, we get two octets and one singlet of axial-vector dynamically generated resonances. The poles found can be associated to most of the low lying axial-vector resonances quoted in the Particle Data Book: $b_1(1235)$, $h_1(1170)$, $h_1(1380)$, $a_1(1260)$, $f_1(1285)$ and two poles to the $K_1(1270)$ resonance. We evaluate the couplings of the resonances to the $VP$ states and the partial de…

Clues for the existence of twoK1(1270)resonances

2007

The axial-vector meson ${K}_{1}(1270)$ was studied within the chiral unitary approach, where it was shown that it has a two-pole structure. We reanalyze the high-statistics WA3 experiment ${K}^{\ensuremath{-}}p\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}p$ at 63 GeV, which established the existence of both ${K}_{1}(1270)$ and ${K}_{1}(1400)$, and we show that it clearly favors our two-pole interpretation. We also reanalyze the traditional $K$-matrix interpretation of the WA3 data and find that the good fit of the data obtained there comes from large cancellations of terms of unclear physical interpretation.

Meson loops in the $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$ radiative decays into $\rho$, $\omega$

2008

We calculate the radiative decay widths of the $a_0(980)$ and $f_0(980)$ scalar mesons into $\rho\gamma$ and $\omega\gamma$ considering the dynamically generated nature of these scalar resonances within the realm of the Chiral Unitary Approach. The main ingredient in the evaluation of the radiative width of the scalar mesons are the loops coming from the decay into their constituent pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar components and the subsequent radiation of the photon. The dominant diagrams with only pseudoscalar mesons in the loops are found to be convergent while the divergence of those with a vector meson in the loop are written in terms of the two meson loop function easily regularizable. We p…

Signatures of the two $$K_1(1270)$$ K1(1270) poles in $$D^+\rightarrow \nu e^+ V P$$ D+→νe+VP decay

2020

We analyze theoretically the $$D^+\rightarrow \nu e^+ \rho \bar{K}$$ D+→νe+ρK¯ and $$D^+\rightarrow \nu e^+ \bar{K}^* \pi $$ D+→νe+K¯∗π decays to see the feasibility to check the double pole nature of the axial-vector resonance $$K_1(1270)$$ K1(1270) predicted by the unitary extensions of chiral perturbation theory (UChPT). Indeed, within UChPT the $$K_1(1270)$$ K1(1270) is dynamically generated from the interaction of a vector and a pseudoscalar meson, and two poles are obtained for the quantum numbers of this resonance. The lower mass pole couples dominantly to $$K^*\pi $$ K∗π and the higher mass pole to $$\rho K$$ ρK , therefore we can expect that different reactions weighing differently…

Isospin 0 and 1 resonances from pi Sigma photoproduction data

2013

Recently we presented a successful strategy to extract the position of the two Lambda ( 1405) poles from experimental photoproduction data on the gamma p -> K+pi(0)Sigma(0) reaction at Jefferson Lab. Following a similar strategy, we extend the previous method to incorporate also the isospin 1 component which allows us to consider in addition the experimental data on gamma p -> K+pi(+/-)Sigma(-/+). The idea is based on considering a production mechanism as model independent as possible and implementing the final state interaction of the final meson-baryon pair based on small modifications of the unitary chiral perturbation theory amplitudes. Good fits to the data are obtained with this proce…

Lambda(1405) poles obtained from pi(0)Sigma(0) photoproduction data

2013

We present a strategy to extract the position of the two Lambda(1405) poles from experimental photoproduction data measured recently at different energies in the gamma p -> K+pi(0)Sigma(0) reaction at Jefferson Laboratory. By means of a chiral dynamics motivated potential with free parameters, we solve the Bethe-Salpeter equation in the coupled channels (K) over barN and pi Sigma in isospin I = 0 and parametrize the amplitude for the photonuclear reaction in terms of a linear combination of the pi Sigma -> pi Sigma and (K) over barN -> pi Sigma scattering amplitudes in I = 0, with a different linear combination for each energy. Good fits to the data are obtained with some sets of parameters…

Predictions for the $\Lambda_b \to J/\psi ~ \Lambda(1405)$ decay

2015

We calculate the shape of the $\pi\Sigma$ and $\bar K N$ invariant mass distributions in the $\Lambda_b \to J/\psi\, \pi\Sigma$ and $\Lambda_b \to J/\psi \,\bar K N$ decays that are dominated by the $\Lambda(1405)$ resonance. The weak interaction part is the same for both processes and the hadronization into the different meson-baryon channels in the final state is related by SU(3) symmetry. The most important feature is the implementation of the meson-baryon final-state interaction using two chiral unitary models from different theoretical groups. Both approaches give a good description of antikaon-nucleon scattering data, the complex energy shift in kaonic hydrogen and the line shapes of …

Nature of the K-2*(1430), K-3*(1780), K-4*(2045), K-5*(2380), and K-6* as K*-multi-rho states

2010

We show that the K-2*(1430), K-3*(1780), K-4*(2045), K-5*(2380), and a not-yet-discovered K-6* resonance are basically molecules made of an increasing number of rho(770) and one K*(892) mesons. The idea relies on the fact that the vector-vector interaction in the s wave with spins aligned is very strong for both rho rho and K*rho. We extend a recent work, where several resonances showed up as multi-rho(770) molecules, to the strange sector including the K*(892) into the system. The resonant structures show up in the multibody scattering amplitudes, which are evaluated in terms of the unitary two-body vector-vector scattering amplitudes by using the fixed center approximation to the Faddeev …
