Trials of immune-modulating drugs in septic patients have mostly failed to demonstrate clinical efficacy. Thus, we sought to generate a surrogate model of myelomonocytic lineage differentiation that would potentially allow sepsis induction and preclinical testing of anti-inflammatory drugs.
