The production of valuable carbonyl compounds directly from alkenes via carbon–carbon double (CC) bond cleavage is a highly important reaction. As a promising alternative to traditional metal-catalyzed thermal reaction conditions, photocatalysis offers an environmentally friendly and sustainable synthetic strategy.
