Coconut fibre insulators, represent an insulating material considered as “exotic”, which clashes with the doubts of his thermo-hygrometric behavior, in particular, in the case of covering technology such as green roofs, a technological solution adopted in the case of sustainable buildings or nearly zero energy building. Starting from the analysis of the problems that characterize the Italian suburbs, the application of a Smart Methodology to a real peripheral area is presented. In literature, several studies underline the urgent request of the city's periphery, enhancing local and national projects to increase the quality of life in the suburbs.
