Typen und Textmuster von Kommentaren in schwedischsprachigen Tageszeitungen

This study aims to investigate the textual characteristics of the editorial and the commentary in one daily newspaper from Sweden, Dagens Nyheter (DN), and one from Finland, Hufvudstadsbladet (HBL). Furthermore, a contrastive analysis seeks to identify similarities and differences between the two subcorpora. The material comprises 20 articles. The findings show considerable similarities but also a number of differences. Common to both subcorpora is a reduced syntactic complexity with a dominance of paratactic structures, while instances of the passive voice occur more frequently in HBL. Im Rahmen der Phraseologieforschung haben Kollokationen traditionell nur wenig Beachtung gefunden. Im Gegensatz zu Idiomen sind sie in der Regel semantisch transparent und bereiten daher Fremdsprachenlernern selten rezeptive Schwierigkeiten. Bei der Textproduktion muss jedoch die Problematik der Kollokationen beachtet werden. Aus diesem Grund halten wir Kollokationen für einen wichtigen Bereich der Phraseologie. Mehrsprachigkeit in Motorradmagazinen am Beispiel von MOTORRAD und Allt om MC

This article deals with the incidence of multilingualism in the magazines MOTORRAD and Allt om MC and the question of which languages occur. It further examines whether translations or explanations of the foreign terms are given. The analysis shows that in both magazines several languages occur in addition to the German or Swedish of the magazine and that English features most prominently. The second most frequent foreign language found is Italian. Translations and explanations appear in both magazines, but it appears that MOTORRAD more frequently provides translations whereas Allt om MC inclines more to giving explanations.
