ABSTRACT: Those of the Wittenberg Circle who had undergone reformation continually submitted their criticisms to the Papacy throughout the sixteenth century. They saw in this institution one of the principal evils of the Catholic Churchn which they saw one of the principal males of the Catholic Church.
