Artikkelissa tarkastellaan lasten ja tutkijoiden välisiä sukupolvisuhteita tutkimustoiminnassa. Tutkimusmenetelmänä ja tutkijoihin kohdistuvana pedagogisena menetelmänä käytetään kollaboratiivista autoetnografiaa. Artikkelissa hyödynnetään Pierre Bourdieun episteemisen refleksiivisyyden ajatusta eli tutkijan ja tutkittavien suhteiden ja asemien kriittistä arviointia. Lisäksi tutkimustoiminnassa toteutuvia sukupolvisuhteita tarkastellaan eksistentiaalisen, episteemisen ja juridis-eettisen ulottuvuuden avulla. Invited to labour or participate : intra- and inter-generational distinctions and the role of capital in children’s invited participation

This paper applies aspects of Bourdieu’s conceptual toolkit related to capital, and analyses inter- and intra-generational relations of influence. Applying Bourdieu’s concepts to examples of case studies from a children’s parliament in Finland, and with reference to an adult resident forum, moments of continuity and disruption in the relatively stable patterns of distinction between children and adults emerge. The article introduces four case studies from Wales, France and Finland and explores the situated, intergenerational and dynamic nature of collective participation in child welfare settings. Collective participation is conceived of as a process of engagement in which children and young people have some influence over the initiation or direction of a project; and as seeking a product, or outcome. Expertise-by-Experience in Child and Family Services : Professionals' Perspectives on Experiential Knowledge

This study analyses child and family service professionals' perceptions of expertise-by-experience. Group and individual interviews with professionals were analysed. The analysis yielded three main dimensions of experiential knowledge: supportive peer knowledge; contested knowledge, in which education and talking among peers in small groups helps experts-by-experience to locate the limits of their knowledge before publicly disclosing their inner thoughts; and emotional knowledge, which is based on shared experiences of emotional challenges and vulnerability. Obtaining a doctoral degree requires acquisition of different types of skills and knowledge. The aim of this article is to explore multidisciplinary peer-mentoring groups (PMGs) facilitated by senior academics as a knowledge sharing practice in doctoral education. This article discusses the potential of multidisciplinary peer-mentoring groups to facilitate individual and institutional change. To do this, we view peer mentoring as a form of critical education praxis (Mahon et al. 2019), the purpose of which is to create a space for reflexive thinking and asking critical questions. Kiili selvitti 6–12-vuotiaiden lasten osallistumisen mahdollisuuksia ja rajoja tutkimalla jyväskyläläisen lapsiparlamentti Ipanoiden toimintaa lukuvuonna 2000–2001.Yleensä lapset ymmärretään kasvavina ja kehittyvinä tulevaisuuden ihmisinä. Tätä lapsikuvaa tutkitut lapset eli Ipanat ymmärsivät, mutta halusivat myös kritisoida. Tulevaisuusorientoitunut ajattelu rajoitti lasten toiminta- ja osallistumismahdollisuuksia. Sen mukaan lapsilla ei vielä ajateltu olevan riittävästi kykyä tai taitoa oman elinympäristönsä kehittämiseen. Tämä ei kuitenkaan vastannut kuvaa, jonka lapset haluavat itsestään välittää.
