Du Bronze moyen à l’Antiquité, un lieu de culte inscrit dans la longue durée : Mez-Notariou - Ouessant
In the heart of the island of Ushant, the protohistoric site of Mez-Notariou reveals remains of Early and Middle Bronze Age and Early Iron Age settlements. Traces of religious activity have also been discovered extending from the Middle Bronze Age to the end of Roman Antiquity. They are exemplified in particular by organized deposits of bones of mammals, fish and limpets. For 2000 years the right shoulders of mammals were chosen (60 to 80 %). Deposits of metallic objects are also connected with these practices which only ceased at the beginning of the High Middle Ages after the destruction of the site.
