ABSTRACT : Miguel de Cervantes has his own gallery of images that have come down to posterity, but who painted the portraits of Miguel de Cervantes that have been discovered over the course of time? Beginning with the verbal self-portrait of himself that Cervantes crafts in the prologue of his Novelas ejemplares (1613), this study traces the route of the different portraits sine 1738 that have been claimed as the true image of the author from Alcala de Henares. It is a path that follows along the character known as Miguel de Cervantes, which has imposed itself on the myth, taking precedence over the man who lived during the Golden Age. Amadís de Gaula: un héroe para el siglo XXI

Los libros de caballerías constituyen, sin lugar a dudas, el género narrativo de más éxito durante el siglo XVI y buena parte del siglo XVII. En este trabajo se analizan algunas de las claves que explican esta continuidad en su lectura y escritura en una época que vio trastocados sus principios. Se intenta mostrar cuál puede ser la perspectiva desde la que se pueden leer este género durante nuestro siglo XXI, tan alejado del momento político, social y cultural que le vio nacer. Pero los libros de caballerías cuentan historias de héroes y sobre estos valores caballerescos puede entenderse mejor la finalidad de estas obras, tanto en el pasado como en el presente.
