Master's thesis in History (HI501) What really happened in Kautokeino in 1852? This question has been treated by a number of researchers, authors and contributors who together have formed what we might call the history of the Kautokeino uprising. A question which has not previously been addressed is how to understand the dramatic events when considering political culture, contentious politics and the Nordic model.
