International audience; Ecosystems are submitted to various abiotic stresses, among which heavy metals represent major industrial pollutants. Cadmium (Cd), that has damaging effects on plant metabolism, occurs in agricultural environments through industrial pollution and human activities, including phosphate fertiliser and sewage sludge applications.
