The nuck's cyst: A disease easily confused for inguinal hernia. A case report
Nuck's canal cyst is a blind end adult residual of the fetal peritoneum. These rare cyst formations are usually found in the inguinal canal and can easily be mistaken for hernia, or enlarged limph nodes. Clinically, a Nuck's canal cyst appears as a painless or moderately painful swelling in inguinal area. We report the case of a 40 years-old woman with a painless swelling in her left inguinal region, believed a groin hernia but diagnosed as a Nuck's canal cyst only after intervention. Intraoperatively, the cyst was opened and sebsequently excised, closing the abdominal wall without the use of any sort of syntetic prostetic material.
ITTERO OSTRUTTIVO COME SINTOMO DI ESORDIO IN SOGGETTO CON LEUCEMIA MONOCITICA ACUTA. CASO CLINICO

Pregnancy involves physical changes but also relational and affective ones. During the nine months’ period and in the months following the birth, women develop a series of expectations and fantasies about themselves and their child. The way women live their motherhood expresses, in addition, the cultural values, the myths, the rules society has transmitted to them. Then, birth can be considered as a cultural event with distinctive features. Moving from these considerations, we wondered how immigrant women live their experience of motherhood in a foreign country. We examined the way women reconstruct the history of their pregnancy in relation to their own maternal identity, the identity of t…

Nello specifico sono stati indagati i livelli di soddisfazione e benessere percepito, il legame affettivo verso i luoghi e la rappresentazione di sé e del vissuto emozionale.
Gallbladder carcinoma late metastases and incisional hernia at umbilical port site after laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
A potentially serious complication of laparoscopic cholecystectomy is the inadvertent dissemination of unsuspected gallbladder carcinoma. There are increasing reports of seeding of tumor at the trocar sites following laparoscopic cholecystectomy in patients with unexpected or inapparent gallbladder carcinoma. Although the mechanism of the abdominal wall recurrence is still unclear, laparoscopic handling of the tumor, perforation of the gallbladder, and extraction of the specimen without an endobag may be risk factors for the spreading of malignant cells. The Authors report the case of late development of umbilical metastasis after laparoscopic cholecystectomy; the presence of an incisional …
Whose Turn Is It? Problems of Reconciling Family and Work in Dual-Career Couples.
The work-family life conflict affects various aspects of dual-career families. Parenthood and the work-family life balance lead to an overload of responsibility and disparity at the expense of women, on a private as well as on a social level. In our research, we examined WIF (work to family) and FIW (family to work) conflicts in a sample of 483 dual-career couples. The main results underline an increase in familiar duties concerning child birth and childcare, as associated with the traditional work-family life balance strategy. The data seems to reflect differences in traditional roles between public-male- breadwinner and private-female-homemaker.
